Mitsubishi Xpander: 808 units

In January 2025, Mitsubishi sold 808 Xpander units in Vietnam, a 59.3% decrease. However, it remains the best-selling model for the Mitsubishi brand and the MPV segment as a whole. Meanwhile, the Ford Ranger has overtaken the Xpander as the best-selling petrol and diesel model in Vietnam.

Similar to previous months, in February 2025, the Mitsubishi Xpander is offering official promotions. The car is supported with a subsidy equivalent to 50% of the registration fee and a fuel voucher worth up to VND 20 million. The MT version is offered with a rearview camera worth VND 2.5 million, while the AT Premium version comes with a 360-degree panoramic camera worth VND 20 million.

For the Mitsubishi Xpander Cross, there is a 50% subsidy on the registration fee, an additional fuel voucher worth VND 21 million, and a 360-degree panoramic camera. The total value of the incentives for this MPV model amounts to over VND 70 million.

Not only does the Mitsubishi Xpander consistently offer promotions, but it also boasts an attractive price range of VND 560-698 million. Additionally, it features an eye-catching exterior design, a spacious 7-seat interior, and adequate equipment.

The Mitsubishi Xpander in Vietnam is equipped with a 1.5L 4-cylinder petrol engine that produces a maximum of 105 horsepower and 141 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a front-wheel drive system and either a 4-speed automatic or 5-speed manual transmission.

Toyota Innova Cross: 480 units

The Toyota Innova Cross maintained its second position in the MPV segment in terms of sales, with 480 units sold in January, a 60% decrease.

As the newest generation of the Innova line, the Toyota Innova Cross boasts more impressive design and equipment than its predecessor. Moreover, this mid-sized MPV is well-equipped even in its standard version.

The Innova Cross features a brand new engine, a departure from the previous-generation Toyota Innova. Firstly, it is equipped with a 2.0L 4-cylinder petrol engine that produces a maximum of 172 horsepower and 205 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a Direct Shift CVT automatic transmission. Secondly, it offers a hybrid powertrain, combining a 150-horsepower petrol engine with an 111-horsepower electric motor and a CVT automatic transmission.

In Vietnam, the Toyota Innova Cross is available in two versions, with prices ranging from VND 810 million to VND 999 million.

Honda BR-V: 365 units

The Honda BR-V ranked third in the MPV segment, with a 9.2% decrease in sales to 365 units.

To stimulate purchasing, in February 2025, Honda is offering a 50% subsidy on the registration fee and one year of free body insurance for the BR-V L version. As a result, customers can save about VND 30 million when buying this model.

In late December 2024, the Honda BR-V unexpectedly received a price reduction of VND 32 million for the G version, bringing the price down to VND 629 million. Meanwhile, the price of the high-end L version remains unchanged at VND 705 million.

The Honda BR-V is a small-sized MPV with an attractive SUV-like design, advanced standard active safety features, and highly-rated driving performance. Under the hood, it is equipped with a 1.5L i-VTEC 4-cylinder DOHC petrol engine that produces 119 horsepower and 145 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a CVT automatic transmission and a front-wheel drive system.

The Kia Carnival had the lowest sales decrease in the MPV segment, with a modest 4.7% dip to 321 units.

As one of the few large MPVs in Vietnam, the Kia Carnival is not cheap, with prices ranging from VND 1.299 billion to VND 1.849 billion. However, it remains a favorite among consumers due to its attractive design and features.

The Kia Carnival in Vietnam currently offers two engine options. The first is a 2.2L Smartstream 4-cylinder DOHC diesel engine that produces 199 horsepower and 441 Nm of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. The second option is a hybrid powertrain that combines a 1.6L 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, an electric motor, and a lithium-ion polymer battery with a 6-speed automatic transmission. This setup delivers a combined output of 242 horsepower while achieving a fuel consumption of 4.95 liters per 100 kilometers.

The Kia Carens, a sibling model to the Carnival, ranked just behind with 227 units sold, a 14% decrease.

In February 2025, the Kia Carens is offering a VND 5 million discount on the 1.5G Luxury, 1.4T Signature 7S, and 1.5G IVT versions. After the discount, the prices of these three versions are VND 664 million, VND 759 million, and VND 629 million, respectively. Meanwhile, the price of the 1.5G IVT version (equipped with a parking brake) remains unchanged at VND 636 million.

Previously, the Kia Carens had seven versions and three engine options. However, on the Kia Vietnam website, this MPV model currently only offers four versions and two engine options.

The first option is a 1.5L 4-cylinder petrol engine that produces 113 horsepower and 144 Nm of torque, paired with a CVT automatic transmission. The second option is a 1.4L 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that delivers 138 horsepower and 242 Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Toyota Veloz Cross: 217 units

January 2025 witnessed a sharp decline for the Toyota Veloz Cross, with sales dipping to just 217 units, a 76.3% decrease compared to the previous month.

In February 2025, Toyota is offering a 50% subsidy on the registration fee and promotional interest rates starting from 6.99% per year for the Veloz Cross. The subsidy on the registration fee for this model will not exceed VND 32 million for the CVT version and VND 33 million for the CVT Top version.

Under the hood, it is powered by a 1.5L 4-cylinder petrol engine that produces 105 horsepower and 138 Nm of torque, paired with a CVT transmission and front-wheel drive.

The Hyundai Stargazer experienced a significant 74% decrease in sales in January 2025, with only 183 units sold.

The Hyundai Stargazer is one of the most attractively priced MPVs in Vietnam, with a range of VND 489-599 million. In February, Hyundai is offering an extended warranty of up to 8 years or 120,000 kilometers (whichever comes first) and a direct discount of up to VND 45 million for the 2024 production models.

The Hyundai Stargazer is powered by a Smartstream G 1.5L 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine that delivers 115 horsepower and 144 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with an intelligent iVT CVT transmission and front-wheel drive.

Suzuki XL7: 133 units

Like its competitors in the segment, the Suzuki XL7 also had a challenging month, with a 60% decrease in sales to 133 units.

In February 2025, Suzuki continues to offer a 50% subsidy on the registration fee, equivalent to VND 30 million, for the XL7. This support will help maintain the competitiveness of this small-sized MPV.
