The coastal city of Vung Tau in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province recently witnessed a stunning sight as a Ferrari 296 GTS cruised through its streets. This supercar, bearing a Ho Chi Minh City license plate, is not a rare occurrence in Vung Tau, as many owners enjoy taking their prized vehicles on a 240-kilometer round trip to the beachside city for a change of scenery.
This particular Ferrari 296 GTS convertible sports a stunning blue exterior, complemented by expensive carbon-fiber wheels. The interior boasts racing seats in white with carbon fiber frames, and the young owner was behind the wheel.
This is the second Ferrari 296 GTS convertible to grace the Vietnamese market. The first was delivered to a couple residing and working in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province, despite being registered in Bac Lieu province.
The Ferrari 296 GTS shares the same powerful engine as the Ferrari 296 GTB but with the added advantage of a retractable hardtop that can be raised or lowered in just 14 seconds. The Italian marque has conveniently included buttons for this operation in the central control panel, along with window controls.
Under the hood, the Ferrari 296 GTS boasts a 2.9-liter V6 engine with a turbocharger, delivering an impressive 654 horsepower and 425 Nm of torque. Additionally, an electric motor situated between the internal combustion engine and the 8-speed gearbox boosts the output further with 164 horsepower and 315 Nm of torque.
Thanks to its plug-in hybrid system, the Ferrari 296 GTS achieves a combined output of 818 horsepower and 740 Nm of torque. This setup enables the supercar to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds, reaching a top speed of 330 km/h. The 296 GTS is also Ferrari’s first hardtop convertible variant with a V6 engine.
