Kia Vietnam has teased the upcoming launch of the Kia Carnival Hybrid on its official fanpage. While details about the hybrid model are still scarce, the automaker has started taking reservations for the vehicle since January 6th.
On its website, Kia Vietnam has added the Carnival Hybrid to its product lineup, but the official pricing has not yet been disclosed. The hybrid variant, named Carnival 1.6 Turbo HEV Signature 7S, offers a 7-seat configuration and is expected to feature similar equipment as the Signature diesel model but with a turbocharged 1.6L gasoline engine and an electric motor.

Based on specifications from other markets, the Kia Carnival Hybrid is expected to be powered by a 1.6L turbocharged engine paired with an electric motor and a 1.49 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. This hybrid system delivers a combined output of 242 horsepower and 271 Nm of torque.
The hybrid powertrain offers impressive fuel efficiency, with a combined fuel consumption rating of 7.2 liters per 100 kilometers. In the US, the Kia Carnival Hybrid is priced at USD 40,500.
From the images shared by Kia Vietnam, the hybrid version of the MPV doesn’t seem to differ significantly from the standard models in terms of exterior design. The only noticeable distinction appears to be the HEV badge at the rear, indicating the hybrid powertrain.

Prior to the introduction of the hybrid model, the Kia Carnival was offered in four diesel-powered versions in Vietnam, all equipped with a 2.2L Smartstream diesel engine producing 199 horsepower and 440 Nm of torque.
The Kia Carnival’s exterior received updates in its recent facelift, featuring a wider tiger-nose grille and Star-map LED daytime running lights. The LED projector headlights are vertically stacked.
Inside, the MPV boasts a panoramic dual-screen setup with two 12.3-inch displays. It also comes with a tri-zone automatic climate control system.
The 7-seat configuration includes two business-class seats in the second row, offering power adjustments, reclining functionality, heating and cooling functions, and a zero-gravity reclining position. A dual-pane sunroof is exclusive to the Signature trim, while the ADAS 2.0 system is available from the Premium trim upwards.
The current pricing of the Kia Carnival in Vietnam ranges from VND 1,299 billion to VND 1,589 billion across the four available trims. With a sales figure of 6,223 units in the first 11 months of 2024, the Kia Carnival is the third best-selling Kia model in Vietnam, after the Kia Sonet and Seltos.
Competing against the Kia Carnival in the large MPV segment are the GAC M8 (VND 1,699-2,199 billion) and the Volkswagen Viloran (VND 1,989-2,188 billion). However, neither GAC nor Volkswagen discloses their sales figures.
