Although we’re only two months into 2025, information about a series of new car models set to be launched in Vietnam has been released. Below is a list of the upcoming new cars set to enter the Vietnamese market in the near future.

Haval Jolion

In late 2024, the first batch of Haval Jolion cars arrived at dealerships in Vietnam. According to information disclosed by the dealerships, the cars will be available for sale in the first quarter of this year.

Haval Jolion

The Haval Jolion in Vietnam is expected to come in two versions: Pro and Ultra. Dealerships have revealed that the respective prices for these two versions are VND 736 million and VND 779 million. If customers place a deposit of VND 10 million, they will receive a cash benefit of VND 30 million. In other words, the promotional price for the Haval Jolion at this time is VND 706 million for the Pro version and VND 749 million for the Ultra version.

The highlight of this B-segment SUV lies in its hybrid engine, which includes a 1.5L turbocharged 4-cylinder gasoline engine, an electric motor, and a DHT automatic transmission. This powertrain generates a total output of 186 horsepower and a maximum torque of 375 Nm. The car will have four driving modes: Normal, Sport, Economy, and Snow. The Haval Jolion’s fuel consumption is 23.8 km/l (approximately 4.2 l/100 km).

Skoda Kodiaq

In January 2025, Skoda officially started taking reservations for the new Kodiaq model in Vietnam. The new generation Kodiaq comes in two versions: Premium 4×4 2.0 TSI and Sportline 4×4 2.0 TSI. According to dealership information, the most premium version of this SUV is expected to be priced at around VND 1.6 billion, an increase of nearly VND 200 million compared to the previous generation.

Skoda Kodiaq

True to its name, this D-segment SUV in Vietnam features only one type of engine: a 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder gasoline engine that is carried over from the previous generation. This engine delivers a maximum output of 190 horsepower and a maximum torque of 320 Nm. Compared to the previous version, this engine is more powerful by 10 horsepower. The power is transmitted to the wheels through a 7-speed dual-clutch wet clutch automatic transmission and a 4-wheel drive system.

In addition to the more powerful engine, the 2025 Skoda Kodiaq also features new designs and equipment to enhance its competitiveness in the mid-size SUV segment in Vietnam.

MG G50

Similar to the above-mentioned models, the MG G50 is also currently open for reservations in the Vietnamese market. Sales consultants at dealerships have shared that this mid-size MPV will come in four versions in Vietnam: MT, AT Deluxe, AT Luxury 7-seater, and AT Luxury 8-seater. Dealerships have quoted prices for this model ranging from VND 569 million to VND 669 million.

MG G50

As an affordable MPV, the MG G50 doesn’t stand out in terms of design or equipment. It is powered by a 1.5L turbocharged 4-cylinder gasoline engine that produces a maximum output of 168 horsepower and a maximum torque of 285 Nm. The engine is paired with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed dual-clutch wet clutch automatic transmission, depending on the version.

BYD Sealion 6

Although it hasn’t been officially launched yet, the BYD Sealion 6 is already present at dealerships in Vietnam. BYD dealerships have also been accepting reservations for this model since late 2024. According to sales consultants, the BYD Sealion 6 in Vietnam will come in two versions: Dynamic and Premium, with respective reference prices of VND 800 million and VND 900 million.

BYD Sealion 6

Belonging to the C-segment SUV category, the BYD Sealion 6 is equipped with the Xiaoyun 1.5L 4-cylinder gasoline engine, which generates a maximum output of 98 horsepower and a maximum torque of 122 Nm. The engine is paired with an electric motor, resulting in a combined output of 218 horsepower and a maximum torque of 300 Nm.

Geely Coolray

In addition to the Haval Jolion, the B-segment SUV market in Vietnam will welcome another newcomer from China: the Geely Coolray. This model is already present at dealerships and is awaiting its official launch in Vietnam next month.

Geely Coolray

The price of the Geely Coolray in Vietnam has not yet been revealed, but it is expected to be slightly above VND 600 million for the most premium version. This model will come in three versions: Standard, Premium, and Flagship.

The “heart” of the Geely Coolray in Vietnam is a 1.5L turbocharged 3-cylinder gasoline engine that delivers a maximum output of 175 horsepower and a maximum torque of 255 Nm. The engine is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, enabling the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 7.9 seconds.

According to Geely Vietnam, in addition to the Coolray, the company will also launch three other models in the Vietnamese market this year.

Hyundai Creta

Not long ago, the upgraded version of the Hyundai Creta was spotted at an emission testing center in Hanoi. With this appearance, the launch of the 2025 Hyundai Creta in Vietnam seems imminent.

Hyundai Creta

In its new version, the Creta in Vietnam features a design identical to the model for the Indian market. Notably, it also comes with a new N Line version that offers a sportier look.

Under the hood of the 2025 Hyundai Creta is the Smartstream G1.5 MPI 4-cylinder 1.5L gasoline engine, which produces a maximum output of 113.4 horsepower and a maximum torque of 144 Nm, unchanged from the previous version.

On the other hand, the N Line version offers two engine options: the first is the same 1.5L engine as above, and the second is the Smartstream G1.5 GDI turbocharged 4-cylinder 1.5L gasoline engine that generates a maximum output of 157.8 horsepower and a maximum torque of 253 Nm. The Hyundai Creta 2025 comes with either a manual or an automatic continuously variable IVT transmission, depending on the version.

Tank 300

Right after the Lunar New Year holiday, the Chinese automaker Great Wall Motor (GWM) brought four new car models to its dealerships in Vietnam: Tank 300, Tank 500, Wey 80, and Haval M6. Among them, the Tank 300 is a new competitor to the Mazda CX-5 and Honda CR-V.

Tank 300

The Tank 300 in Vietnam will come with two engine options. The first is a gasoline engine with a maximum output of 162 kW (approximately 217 horsepower) and a maximum torque of 380 Nm. The second option is a hybrid powertrain that combines a turbocharged 4-cylinder 2.0L gasoline engine with an electric motor, resulting in a total output of 245 horsepower and a maximum torque of 385 Nm.

Similar to other GWM models, the Tank 300 will be imported into Vietnam from Thailand. Rumors suggest that the promotional price for the first batch will range from VND 1.41 billion to VND 1.786 billion, depending on the version.

Tank 500

Compared to its sibling, the Tank 500 is larger in size and belongs to the large SUV segment. The speculated price of this model reaches up to VND 2.137 billion.

Tank 500

As a direct competitor to the Toyota Land Cruiser, the Tank 500 boasts a robust and masculine design, along with a full range of convenience and safety features. However, unlike the Land Cruiser, the Tank 500 is a hybrid vehicle.

Specifically, it is equipped with a turbocharged 4-cylinder 2.0L gasoline engine that produces a maximum output of approximately 245 horsepower and a maximum torque of 380 Nm. The engine is combined with an electric motor, a 9-speed 9HAT automatic transmission, and an intelligent 4-wheel drive system. In total, this model delivers a maximum output of 341 horsepower and a maximum torque of 648 Nm. Additionally, it features front and rear differential locks to maintain maximum traction when tackling complex terrain.

Wey 80

Unlike the Tank duo, the Wey 80 belongs to the large MPV segment and competes with the Kia Carnival, Volkswagen Viloran, and GAC M8. The reference price for this model, for the first batch imported into Vietnam, is up to VND 2.677 billion.

Wey 80

The Wey 80’s high price tag is due to its plug-in hybrid powertrain. Specifically, it uses a combination of a gasoline engine and an electric motor, resulting in a maximum output of 377 kW (approximately 505 horsepower) and a maximum torque of 762 Nm. Thus, the Wey 80 will be the most powerful model in the large MPV segment in Vietnam.

The Wey 80 features a design similar to the “land cruiser” Toyota Alphard and its domestic rival, the GAC M8. Meanwhile, the interior offers 7 seats with two business-class seats in the middle.

Haval M6

Among the four GWM models set to be sold in Vietnam, the Haval M6 has the least prominent design, equipment, and price. According to leaked information, the promotional price for the first batch is VND 594 million.

Haval M6

Belonging to the C-segment SUV category, the Haval M6 is equipped with a 1.6L 4-cylinder gasoline engine that delivers a maximum output of 105 kW (140 horsepower) and a maximum torque of 202 Nm. The engine is paired with either a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission and comes with front-wheel drive.

The Haval M6 will be the third Haval model to be available in the Vietnamese market, after the H6 and Jolion. With the expected price mentioned above, the Haval M6 is quite affordable in the C-segment SUV category in Vietnam.
