A standout feature of this supercar is its retractable hardtop that can be operated in just 11 seconds, even while the car is in motion, as long as the speed does not exceed 50 km/h.

The McLaren Artura Spider, valued at approximately 18 billion VND, is currently on public display at an event in Ho Chi Minh City. In fact, the McLaren Artura Spider was officially launched in the Vietnamese market back in December last year.

The McLaren Artura Spider featured here sports a youthful and modern purple exterior. The Artura Spider utilizes the same aluminum and carbon fiber monocoque chassis as the Coupe version, but with improved rigidity and a weight reduction of about 62 kg compared to the Coupe, despite having an electrically operated retractable hardtop mechanism. As a result, the dry weight of the car now stands at approximately 1,475 kg.

In terms of design, the exterior of the McLaren Artura Spider remains largely unchanged from the hardtop version. The front of the car features large air intakes and distinctive McLaren-designed headlights. The sides include air intakes to cool the mid-mounted engine.

On the other hand, the rear of the car impresses with its diffuser that incorporates multiple airfoils, along with a centrally positioned dual-exhaust system, flanked by horizontal LED taillights.

Due to the change in roof design, the Artura Spider features redesigned pillars that incorporate polycarbonate-glazed panels to enhance rear visibility and direct airflow into the engine compartment.

A panel behind the seats can be raised or lowered at the touch of a button to improve comfort when the roof is closed or to enhance the aural experience from the V6 engine when the roof is open. The position of the engine air intakes has also been moved further back.

The Artura Spider’s roof can be retracted in just 11 seconds, which is 3 seconds faster than the Ferrari 296 GTB.

Customers can choose from a variety of exterior and interior trim options, such as carbon fiber or the dark accents of the Stealth package.

In terms of powertrain, the McLaren Artura Spider employs a hybrid system that combines a 3.0L turbocharged V6 engine with an electric motor, resulting in a total output of 700 horsepower and 720 Nm of peak torque. Compared to the previous Artura Coupe, the Spider convertible offers 19 more horsepower while maintaining the same torque figure.

Completing the hybrid powertrain is an 8-speed SSG transmission with an electronic differential, utilizing an electric motor for reverse gear, enabling the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3 seconds, with a top speed limited to 330 km/h. In pure electric mode, the car can travel up to 33 kilometers.

The Artura Spider offers four driving modes: Electric, Comfort, Sport, and Track. Additionally, it is equipped with carbon-ceramic brakes and electronically controlled adaptive dampers with three settings: Comfort, Sport, and Track.
