American automotive company Tesla has recently filed lawsuits against six car owners in China after they complained about the quality of their Tesla vehicles.
To make matters more complicated, Tesla is also suing six bloggers and two Chinese journalists for posting negative reviews about the company.
Interestingly, Tesla has won most of the lawsuits against its customers, with a few cases being appealed. Previously, the company had also won dozens of the 81 lawsuits filed against them by car owners.
A Model 3 owner shared that in 2021, her parents almost lost their lives due to a faulty braking system in their electric car. She then took to standing on the car’s roof with a loudspeaker to protest against Tesla, only to be sued by the company for defamation. Eventually, the Model 3 owner received an offer of compensation amounting to $23,000 (5,869,000,000 VND) along with an apology, which she refused.
Another car owner who complained about the braking system of their Model S was also sued by Tesla and had to pay the company $34,000 (867,670,000 VND).
The electric car giant has also taken legal action against journalists for making negative comments about their vehicles, which they believe has impacted the company.
