Nearly three years after its debut, the first two commercial Bugatti W16 Mistral hypercars have officially rolled off the production line and are en route to their respective owners.
The Bugatti W16 Mistral made its global debut in August 2022 as the only convertible variant based on the Bugatti Chiron platform, powered by the renowned W16 engine.
Of the two Mistral hypercars, one features a White Glacier exterior with a Blue Carbon lower body. The other sports a Black Carbon body with striking Bugatti Light Blue Sport accents.
Notably, the owner of the White Glacier Mistral chose to adorn the car with the French and American flags as a tribute to the brand’s origins and history.
The design of the Bugatti Mistral W16 draws inspiration from the 1934 Type 57 Roadster Grand Raid, a convertible sports car manufactured by Bugatti. It also incorporates design cues from its “older brothers,” the Bugatti Divo and La Voiture Noire, evident in the grille, headlights, and bold cuts along the body.
The most distinctive feature of the Bugatti Mistral W16 is at the rear, boasting massive X-shaped taillights with a glowing Bugatti logo at their center, creating a unique signature.
While based on the Chiron, the Mistral’s interior exhibits unique characteristics. The White Glacier model showcases a predominantly white, premium leather interior with contrasting Lake Blue stitching and carbon fiber accents.
The Black Carbon model, on the other hand, is upholstered in Bugatti Light Blue Sport leather with Begula Black stitching.
Both hypercars feature a unique gear knob crafted from fine wood and amber, housing a meticulously carved “Dancing Elephant” statue by artist Rembrandt Bugatti. This image is also embroidered on the headrests.
Bugatti showcases its artisans’ exquisite craftsmanship with hand-woven tartan fabric on the door panels.
The Mistral’s door sills feature a stylized logo, allowing owners to personalize the vehicles with their names or meaningful messages.
Under the hood, the Bugatti W16 Mistral is powered by a 8.0L W16 engine, paired with four turbochargers, delivering a staggering 1,600 horsepower and 1,600 Nm of torque.
The engine is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and an all-wheel-drive system, resulting in exceptional performance. With a top speed of 453.91 km/h, the W16 Mistral is the fastest convertible hypercar in the world.
Bugatti plans to produce only 99 units of the W16 Mistral globally. This hypercar carries a starting price of $4.973 million, with special editions like the W16 Mistral from The Singh Collection reaching nearly $15 million.
