After owning and directly using the car for half a year, Ms. Mai Phương evaluates the Toyota Wigo as a compact and suitable vehicle for city driving, providing peace of mind for its users.

Sharing her experience with the Toyota Wigo, Ms. Mai Phương, an office worker based in Hanoi, recounted a memorable incident that sparked her interest in the car. While driving on the Hanoi – Quang Ninh highway in her family’s luxury SUV, she and her husband were surprised by a small A-class car that overtook them at a high speed, yet maintained remarkable stability.

Intrigued, Ms. Phương and her husband later discovered that it was an older model of the Toyota Wigo. This initial impression left a lasting impact, leading them to choose the Toyota Wigo as their second family car, alongside her husband’s BMW X5.

Ms. Phương was impressed by the Wigo’s stability at high speeds and decided to purchase it.

Prior to buying the Toyota Wigo G version in July 2024, Ms. Phương didn’t conduct extensive research, as she only needed a compact A-class car for her daily city commutes. However, after driving the Wigo for over six months, she is highly satisfied with her choice.

Firstly, the Toyota Wigo has a more spacious design compared to its predecessor, with improved exterior dimensions and a more eye-catching appearance. The styling is angular and youthful, particularly at the rear. Additionally, the interior space has been relatively enhanced, which Ms. Phương appreciates.

The new Toyota Wigo boasts a modern and sleek design.

Even when fully loaded with three adults in the back, the Wigo provides a comfortable experience for short urban trips. The trunk is spacious enough for Ms. Phương’s grocery shopping needs. The front design also offers a pleasant driving experience, accommodating her tall husband without any issues of legroom or headroom. The distance between the seat, steering wheel, gear lever, and the external view is well-optimized.

In terms of convenience features, the G version of the Toyota Wigo is equipped with a 7-inch infotainment screen that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, making navigation a breeze. Ms. Mai Phương prefers using the Bluetooth connection instead of the USB port to avoid clutter.

The Wigo, despite being a hatchback, offers a range of convenient features.

However, she experienced a minor inconvenience with the Bluetooth connection being disrupted after each call, requiring manual reconnection. The four-speaker audio system provides a relaxing atmosphere during her daily commutes in heavy traffic. Additionally, the Wigo’s blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert features impressed Ms. Phương, as they help female drivers maintain a safe distance from surrounding vehicles and avoid distractions.

Ms. Mai Phương’s daily commute from Thanh Xuan district to Long Bien district involves a mix of city streets and elevated roads, providing a diverse driving experience. The Wigo delivers a smooth and responsive performance, whether at low speeds or cruising at 80 km/h on the highway. The continuously variable transmission ensures a seamless and fuel-efficient drive.

The continuously variable transmission provides a smooth, fuel-efficient, and eco-friendly driving experience.

While the Wigo doesn’t excel in sound insulation, particularly with noise coming from the floor, Ms. Phương understands that this is a common trait among A-class hatchbacks and is acceptable within its segment.

One of the biggest advantages of the Toyota Wigo, according to Ms. Mai Phương, is its fuel efficiency. She only spends about 600,000 VND to fill up the tank, which lasts her about 10 days for her daily commutes and weekend outings, resulting in significant savings compared to her family’s luxury SUV.

Additionally, the Toyota brand has a long-standing presence in Vietnam, known for its reliability and durability. The extensive dealer network, easy availability of spare parts, and reasonable pricing further contribute to the peace of mind that comes with owning a Toyota.

In conclusion, the Toyota Wigo G version impressed Ms. Mai Phương in various aspects, including design, space, features, performance, and most notably, its economic benefits. Despite her initial serendipitous choice, Ms. Phương is delighted with the Wigo and confidently rates it an 8 out of 10.
