Ford’s Marketing Director recently asserted that the Everest surpasses the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado. While the Prado is a capable vehicle, it falls short in certain aspects.

In a recent interview, when asked about the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, Mr. Henderson, Ford’s Marketing Director, shared his honest opinion. He acknowledged that the Prado is a formidable competitor and a vehicle that has made Toyota renowned. However, he believes that when compared to the Ford Everest, the Prado falls short as the Everest prioritizes customer convenience.

Mr. Henderson provided an example regarding the cargo capacity of the vehicles. When the third-row seats are folded, the Prado offers 182 liters of space, while the Everest provides a more spacious 259 liters. Furthermore, the five-seater version of the Everest boasts an impressive 898 liters of cargo volume.

Mr. Henderson also drew a comparison between the Everest and the upcoming Ranger PHEV, slated for release in Australia. He emphasized that the Ford Ranger is the “only model in the segment to offer electrification without compromising on any capability.” The vehicle maintains its impressive 3.5-ton towing capacity and exceptional off-road performance.

In 2024, the Ford Everest witnessed remarkable sales performance in the Australian market, with 26,494 units delivered to customers. This figure surpassed the previous record held by the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, which sold 21,000 units in 2021.

The Ford Ranger, which shares the same platform as the Everest, was the best-selling vehicle in Australia in 2024, with 62,593 units sold.

Thanks to the record-breaking sales of the Ranger and Everest, Ford concluded the year 2024 as the second best-selling automotive brand in Australia, just behind Toyota.

Despite the strong performance of the Ford Ranger and Everest, Toyota maintained its position as the top-selling automotive brand in Australia, selling 241,296 vehicles, doubling Ford’s sales of 100,170 units.
