Kia Unveils the All-New PV5, an Electric MPV with Versatile Configurations

Kia has recently introduced its new all-electric MPV, the PV5, offering a range of configurations to cater to diverse needs.

The PV5 will be available in passenger, cargo, and chassis cab versions, providing flexibility for both personal and commercial use.

The Passenger version features 3 rows of seats and can easily be converted between carrying passengers and cargo.

The Cargo version offers two rear compartment configurations: high roof and extended, providing up to 5,100 liters of space. The cabin has 2 front seats, with the option to add a third seat right behind.

The Chassis Cab version has a bare chassis frame, allowing businesses to customize it into a pickup truck or other specialized vehicles.

With a total length of 4,695 mm and a wheelbase of 2,995 mm, the PV5 sports a unique, futuristic design language called “Opposites United.” It has a short front end, a distinctive LED daytime running light signature, and a bold, square front bumper housing the LED headlights and a silver skid plate.

The rear end features a robust design with LED taillights in a “star map” pattern, consistent with Kia’s latest models. The large rear hatch facilitates easy loading and unloading of cargo.

Inside, the PV5 offers a simple yet functional cabin with a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system running Android Automotive. The digital instrument cluster sits atop the dashboard, providing clear information to the driver. The 360-degree camera system enhances safety and maneuverability.

Kia has also provided images of potential rear compartment configurations, allowing customers to choose based on their specific needs.

The PV5 is powered by an electric motor producing 161 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque, paired with a front-wheel-drive system. It offers three battery options: 43.3 kWh, 51.5 kWh, and 71.2 kWh, providing a maximum range of up to 400 kilometers. The PV5 supports fast charging, capable of charging from 10% to 80% in under 30 minutes.

Kia plans to launch the PV5 in South Korea and Europe in mid-2025, with pricing details yet to be announced.
