Michelin, the world leader in materials and experiences that change lives, has launched the MICHELIN Primacy 5 tire generation for passenger cars and crossovers with all powertrains.

A significant upgrade from its predecessor, the MICHELIN Primacy 4, this new tire line applies breakthrough core technology to enhance performance and reduce environmental impact. Mr. Faiez Pisal, General Director of Michelin Vietnam, revealed, “The new MICHELIN Primacy 5 tires are developed to meet the increasingly high demands of modern vehicles while reducing environmental impact. New technology vehicles, especially hybrids and electric cars, pose higher requirements for tires due to increased engine power and weight.”

Hence, the tire structure has been optimized to meet these demands. Improvements in tire wear and rolling resistance contribute to reduced operating costs while maintaining excellent wet grip, ensuring safety throughout the tire’s life. For our target customers, all these benefits not only enhance the driving experience but also offer a great investment value – giving drivers the confidence to take on any journey with MICHELIN Primacy 5.”

The new MICHELIN Primacy 5 tire line offers superior benefits, including:

– Smooth ride: The new tread design, featuring the 3rd generation MICHELIN Silent Rib Gen-3 technology, effectively reduces vibration and noise, providing comfortable and relaxed journeys with smooth and relaxing mobility experiences.

– Exceptional durability: With 24% more mileage than other premium brands, Primacy 5 tires are designed with a durable tread pattern for wet roads, optimized side groove edges, and MaxTouch technology that maximizes the contact surface with the road. The even distribution of rolling resistance during acceleration, braking, and cornering enhances both durability and safety. As a result, customers can easily enjoy longer journeys and get the most out of their tire usage.

– Wet road safety: With 8% shorter braking distances when new and 13% when worn compared to other premium brands, the MICHELIN Primacy 5 tires excel in wet braking performance. This is achieved through the use of a special 3rd generation elastomer created by MICHELIN EverGrip and MICHELIN EverTread technologies, which optimize water evacuation. The tires are also electric vehicle-compatible, as the high-performance rubber compound reduces rolling resistance by 13%, improving fuel efficiency and extending the battery life of electric vehicles.

– Environmental friendliness: In line with Michelin’s “Sustainable Mobility for All” strategy, the MICHELIN Primacy 5 tires have a 13% improved rolling resistance and 24% increased durability, meaning they can be used until the minimum legal tread depth is reached, reducing environmental emissions. The “environmental footprint” of the MICHELIN Primacy 5 tires is reduced by 6%.

Vietnamese experts and influencers recently attended the launch event and test drive of the Michelin Primacy 5 tires at the Legend Siam Cultural Park in Pattaya, Thailand, from March 5 to 8, 2025. The event offered an emotional journey through four experience stations: wet road braking (Be Safe on Wet Road), comfort evaluation (Premium Comfort), rolling resistance and longevity testing (Excellent Longevity), and overall driving performance (Overall Driving) on a 30km real-road course.

Mr. Dang Viet, a guest at the event, shared, “I challenged the new Michelin tires on various terrains, including rough roads, highways, and scenic routes. After nearly an hour of driving, I was most impressed by the maximum reduction of tire noise, which prevented driver fatigue and provided a quiet space for my fellow passengers to rest.”

Ms. Mai Linh, another guest, said, “As a business owner and a mother, I prioritize safety. During the test drive with Primacy 5, the tires demonstrated excellent road grip, especially when cornering. I felt confident and in control throughout the drive.”

Mr. Tien Tung, a long-time user of Michelin tires, shared, “I’ve always appreciated the quality and versatility of Michelin products, and Primacy 5 delivers on that promise. It’s suitable for both electric and internal combustion engine vehicles. With the rise of electric and hybrid vehicles, Primacy 5 addresses the challenges of weight, performance, and low rolling resistance, increasing range and reducing energy consumption, and is compatible with regenerative braking systems.”

In Vietnam, MICHELIN Primacy 5 is available in 43 sizes, from 16 to 20 inches, fitting various premium vehicles such as Mercedes C-Class to S-Class, BMW 3 Series, 7 Series, Audi Q7, Toyota Camry, Volvo XC40, and electric vehicles like EQS, BYD ATTO 3, and Vinfast. MICHELIN Primacy 5 tires are officially distributed through authorized tire dealers nationwide. Notably, all tires from 18 inches and above (21 sizes) feature a velvety finish on the tire’s sidewall.
