The All-New Peugeot 3008 SUV: Unveiling in Southeast Asia
The third-generation Peugeot 3008 SUV has been spotted in Southeast Asia, over a year after its global launch.
The version spotted in Malaysia is likely the hybrid version, as there is no charging port on the left side of the vehicle. The fully electric and PHEV versions have the charging port located at the top.
Malaysia is currently one of Stellantis’ key production hubs in Southeast Asia, with the Gurun plant assembling several Peugeot models, including the 2008, 3008, 5008, 408, and Landtrek. Therefore, it is not surprising that the new Peugeot 3008 has made an appearance in Malaysia, indicating a potential launch in 2025.
The third-generation Peugeot 3008 is the first Stellantis model to utilize the STLA Medium platform, designed specifically for electric vehicles, and is expected to be adopted by other models, including the Peugeot 5008.
The 2025 3008 offers three powertrain options.
Firstly, the all-electric version comes in three configurations: two front-wheel-drive options with 207 hp/343 Nm (525 km range) and 227 hp/343 Nm (700 km range), and an all-wheel-drive option with 316 hp and 509 Nm, offering a range of 525 km on a single charge.
Secondly, the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) combines a 1.6L turbocharged engine with an electric motor, delivering 192 hp and 350 Nm of torque.
Thirdly, the hybrid version spotted in Malaysia is equipped with a 1.2L turbocharged engine, producing 134 hp and 230 Nm of torque.
In terms of design, the 2025 Peugeot 3008 impresses with its SUV-coupe styling, resulting in a sportier and more dynamic appearance. It also shares design cues with the 408 model.
The new Peugeot 3008 features an extended wheelbase of 2,739 mm, providing a more spacious and comfortable cabin. It is equipped with the all-new 21-inch Panoramic i-Cockpit curved display, integrating advanced technology to enhance the driving experience.
As the Peugeot 3008 is one of the brand’s key models in Vietnam, there is a high possibility that the new generation will be introduced to the Vietnamese market in the near future.
