For decades, Hyundai held the top spot for best-selling cars in South Korea. However, since 2024, Kia has taken the lead.

According to the latest monthly sales report, Kia maintained its dominant position in the domestic market, with the top three best-selling models for the past month all belonging to Kia.

Specifically, the Kia Sorento was the best-selling car in South Korea, with 9,670 units sold. Following closely in second and third place were the Kia Carnival, with 7,734 units, and the Kia Sportage with 6,568 units, respectively. The Hyundai Avante and Grandeur trailed in fourth and fifth places, with sales figures of 6,296 and 5,481 units.

Kia Sorento ended 2024 as the best-selling model in the market, showcasing the brand’s remarkable growth.

In the electric vehicle segment, Kia also excelled, with the Kia EV3 being the best-selling electric car in South Korea last month.

Kia is set to launch the EV4, PV5, and Tasman models, which are expected to further boost the brand’s sales performance.
