The MG car company surprised everyone at the 2024 Vietnam Motor Show (VMS) by announcing the price of their exciting new Cyberster sports car. With a price tag of 3.2 billion VND, the Cyberster is more expensive than some well-known sports cars such as the BMW Z4 and the Ford Mustang. Despite the high price, there have been sightings of registered Cybersters on the roads.

Specifically, a silver MG Cyberster was spotted in a luxury residential area in Thao Dien, Thu Duc City, an area known for its wealthy residents and supercars. It was an unusual sight to see the Cyberster among the other luxury vehicles.

The photos also show a Ford Mustang sports car parked in front of the Cyberster. MG initially planned to sell only 100 units of the Cyberster in Vietnam, but it appears that demand may be lower than expected.

The Cyberster is the missing piece in MG’s product range, offering a sports car option to customers alongside their “4-door” sedan and SUV models. The production version of the Cyberster remains largely true to the concept design, with only minor changes to the exterior. The front of the car features sharp, sleek headlights and a boldly designed bumper and air intake.

The rear of the car is equally impressive, with thin, elongated LED taillights and arrow-shaped turn signals. However, the most striking feature of the MG Cyberster is its scissor doors, reminiscent of those found on Lamborghini supercars. The Cyberster’s soft-top convertible roof can be easily operated with the push of a button from the driver’s seat.

The MG Cyberster will be offered in three versions, all of which are electric. The base model features a single rear-mounted motor producing 309 horsepower, while the second version has a more powerful 335-horsepower motor. The top-of-the-line Cyberster has an additional front-mounted motor, resulting in a combined output of 536 horsepower and 725 Nm of torque. This all-wheel-drive model can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds.

The Cyberster is equipped with two battery options: a 64 kWh and a 77 kWh battery. Depending on the version, the car can travel between 201 and 580 kilometers on a single charge, according to the CLTC test cycle in China.
