Toyota Vietnam Announces January 2025 Sales Figures: A Dip During the Lunar New Year Period

On February 4, 2025, Toyota Motor Vietnam announced its sales figures for January 2025, revealing a 61.2% decrease in sales with 3,346 units sold during the Lunar New Year period.

Meanwhile, the luxury brand Lexus sold 70 vehicles in Vietnam, a 67.5% decrease. Since its introduction in Vietnam, Lexus has accumulated a total of 13,882 vehicle sales.

Combining the sales of Lexus and Toyota, the company sold 3,416 units in January 2025, a 61.4% decrease compared to the previous month. Of these, 929 were locally assembled, and 2,417 were completely built-up imported vehicles. Compared to the same period last year, Toyota Vietnam’s sales increased by 46%.

Toyota’s hybrid vehicle sales for the past month reached 565 units, a 34.3% decrease month-on-month but a significant 504% increase year-on-year. This indicates a growing preference for hybrid vehicles among Vietnamese consumers.

Among Toyota’s models, the Yaris Cross led the sales with 645 units sold in January 2025, a 59% decrease. Following closely was the Toyota Vios with 490 units sold, a 67.4% decrease. The third best-selling Toyota model for the month was the Innova Cross with 480 units, a 60% decrease from the previous month.

The Toyota Corolla Cross and Veloz Cross also experienced sales declines, with 360 and 217 units sold, corresponding to decreases of 64.5% and 76.3%, respectively.

The significant dip in Toyota’s sales during January 2025 was expected, as the month coincided with the Lunar New Year holiday period.

February 2025 is also anticipated to be a slow month for the Vietnamese automotive market. As a result, Toyota Vietnam is offering promotions for select models.

Specifically, during this month, the aforementioned Toyota trio will be offered with a 50% registration fee support and preferential interest rates starting from 6.99% per annum. The support for the Toyota Vios ranges from VND 23-27 million, depending on the version. The Toyota Veloz Cross offers a similar benefit, ranging from VND 32-33 million. Meanwhile, the Toyota Avanza Premio’s promotion stands at VND 28-30 million.

Toyota Vietnam’s promotional program is applicable to all customers who purchase a vehicle, complete the payment procedure of 100%, and receive an invoice for value-added tax (VAT) from February 3, 2025, to February 28, 2025.

Additionally, during February 2025, customers purchasing other Toyota models in Vietnam will also benefit from preferential interest rates offered by Toyota Financial Services Vietnam (TFSVN), starting from 6.99% per annum.
