The Ford Flex is a relatively rare sight in Vietnam, with most vehicles being privately imported and not widely available. Higher-end models, such as the 2014 version featured in this article, are even more scarce. A used car dealership is currently offering one such 2014 model for over 1.4 billion VND.

While this price tag is comparable to that of a new 7-seater from a Korean brand, the Ford Flex has its own distinct appeal. Its exterior exudes Americana, showcasing masculine rectangular shapes in the side mirrors, headlights, and rear details. The headlights seamlessly merge with the grille, creating a striking front-end accent.

The Ford Flexโ€™s exterior boasts a bold, masculine design with prominent rectangular elements.

The square-shaped taillights are neatly tucked away at the rear, and chrome accents on the trunk resemble those found on the contemporary F150 pickup truck. The Ford Flex 2014 rides on 19-inch multi-spoke wheels wrapped in 235/55 tires.

With a wheelbase of 2,995 mm, this 7-seater offers ample space across all three rows of premium leather seats. The middle row features two independent seats with individual armrests and a convenient fold-and-tilt mechanism for easy access to the third row. The cargo area is spacious and can be adapted to suit various needs.

The Ford Flexโ€™s cockpit will feel familiar to anyone who has driven its sibling, the Explorer. The 3-spoke steering wheel integrates function keys for a more intuitive driving experience, and the entertainment control panel is within easy reach.

Under the hood, the Ford Flex 2014 is equipped with a 3.5-liter V6 Ecoboost engine that delivers 365 horsepower and 470 Nm of torque. It is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. In addition to standard driving modes, this imported model also features a mode for slippery conditions caused by snow or heavy rain.

According to the manufacturer, fuel consumption is estimated at 9.4 liters per 100 km on highways and 13 liters per 100 km in city driving. These figures are reasonable for a 7-seater with a large-displacement engine. However, being an older model, the actual fuel economy is likely to be higher, around 15L/100 km.

The scarcity of these vehicles, their unconventional appearance, and rapid depreciation in the used car market make the Ford Flex a challenging choice for the average Vietnamese consumer. However, for a small niche of car enthusiasts seeking a unique, masculine-looking vehicle with a powerful V6 engine, the 2014 Ford Flex is definitely worth considering.
