The Mitsubishi Pajero Sport has recently surprised the Vietnamese market with the introduction of a petrol-powered version, generating significant interest from consumers. This unexpected addition complements the two existing diesel-powered models already available.

According to sources, a Mitsubishi dealer in Vinh Phuc province is offering the 2023 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport with a petrol engine for 1.18 billion VND. It is understood that the dealer imported these vehicles to sell in bulk to businesses, and there are now a limited number available for individual purchase, approximately 10 units.

The Mitsubishi Pajero Sport petrol version being offered by the dealer is a facelift model that has not yet been officially launched in Vietnam. Compared to the current version, this model features a new grille and front bumper. It is equipped with LED projector headlights, and its 18-inch two-tone black/gray alloy wheels enhance the SUV’s sporty character. Unfortunately, the available petrol-powered Pajero Sport models do not include an electric tailgate.

The only change in the vehicle’s interior is the new, more modern multi-spoke steering wheel. Meanwhile, the rest of the cabin remains almost identical to the previous version. The center infotainment screen is still the 7-inch unit seen in Pajero Sports since 2019. The seats are upholstered in synthetic leather, with the driver’s seat offering 8-way power adjustment and the passenger seat having manual controls. The vehicle features a Bluetooth, radio, and FM-compatible audio system with six speakers, along with dual-zone climate control.

However, these petrol-powered Pajero Sport models have omitted several safety features, including a 360-degree camera and ADAS, and only offer two airbags.

Under the hood is a 3.0L V6 petrol engine that produces 206 horsepower and 279 Nm of torque. Paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, the vehicle can reach a top speed of 182 km/h.
