Some dealers in Vietnam have recently announced that they are taking deposits for the 2025 Suzuki Swift.

According to sources, the car will be imported directly from Japan, unlike previous models that were sourced from Thailand. This change in import origin may result in a price increase for the 2025 Swift, as Japan is not exempt from import taxes to Vietnam, unlike countries within the ASEAN bloc.

While this information has not been officially confirmed by Suzuki, it is highly plausible, given the company’s plans to shut down its Thai plant by the end of 2025.

According to sales consultants, the upcoming 2025 Suzuki Swift in Vietnam will belong to the fourth generation of the model. However, the exterior design remains largely unchanged from its predecessor. The new model features a redesigned grille, new LED headlights and taillights, and a set of more robust alloy wheels.

In terms of interior updates, the 2025 Suzuki Swift boasts a new dashboard design, but the area behind the steering wheel retains the analog instrument cluster with a small multi-information display. The climate control system has been updated with buttons instead of the previous rotary knobs. The vehicle is equipped with a 9-inch floating infotainment screen, slightly smaller than the 10-inch unit found in the previous generation sold in Vietnam. However, it now supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

It is unclear what powertrain options will be available for the Vietnamese market. In Japan, the Suzuki Swift is offered with two engine choices: a 1.2-liter gasoline engine producing 82 horsepower and 108 Nm of torque, or a hybrid system combining the same 1.2-liter gasoline engine with an electric motor that adds 3.1 horsepower and 60 Nm of torque.

Regardless of the engine choice, the 2025 Suzuki Swift will be paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The car will offer a choice of front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, although the latter option is unlikely to be available for the Vietnamese market.

Sales consultants have not disclosed the expected pricing for the 2025 Suzuki Swift in Vietnam, but it is speculated to be higher than the previous price of 550 million VND. The exact timeline for the vehicle’s arrival in the country is also yet to be determined.
