In Vietnam, the Yamaha XMAX 300 goes head-to-head with rivals in the 300cc scooter segment, including the Honda SH350i and the Vespa GTS Super Tech 300.
According to sources, the new Yamaha XMAX 300 scooter will be introduced to the Vietnamese market and made available to customers next month.
The Yamaha XMAX 300 is a Maxi-scooter designed for long-distance riders. In Vietnam, it directly competes with the Honda SH350i and the Vespa GTS Super Tech 300.
Compared to its rivals, the Yamaha XMAX 300 stands out with its sporty, aggressive, and slightly rugged design. This scooter is equipped with full LED lighting, ABS on both front and rear wheels, traction control, a Smartkey smart key system, and a two-tier ergonomic seat.
Additionally, the XMAX 300 boasts modern conveniences such as dual digital displays that show various vehicle parameters: The upper screen displays speed, fuel level, and total distance traveled, while the larger lower screen shows RPM, time, and temperature, flanked by indicator lights for other vehicle indices.
But that’s not all; the Yamaha XMAX 300 can also connect to the rider’s smartphone via a dedicated app developed by the brand. This allows for call and message notifications to be displayed on the scooter’s screen, along with phone battery status. The app also enables riders to monitor various vehicle parameters, including trip logs, fuel consumption, distance traveled, parking location, maintenance reminders, and even the bike’s lean angle while riding.
Dimension-wise, the Yamaha XMAX 300 measures 2,185 mm in length, 795 mm in width, and 1,410 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 1,540 mm. It has a substantial wet weight of 181 kg and a seat height of 795 mm.
In terms of powertrain, the Yamaha XMAX 300 is powered by a 292cc engine that produces 20.6 kW (27.63 hp) at 7,250 rpm and 29 Nm of torque at 5,750 rpm. This engine is paired with a CVT transmission. According to the manufacturer, the scooter has a fuel consumption rate of 3.26L/100km, slightly better than its competitors in the same segment.
According to sales consultants, the new Yamaha XMAX 300 will be priced the same as the current model when it goes on sale in Vietnam, retailing at 139 million VND.
