Pickup Truck Sales Chart for Feb 2025 (units: vehicles)
Ford Ranger: 1,111 units
As expected, the Ford Ranger maintained its position as the top-selling pickup truck in Vietnam. This American pickup sold 1,111 units in February 2025, a slight decrease of 0.3%. This performance is impressive, considering the Lunar New Year celebrations did not significantly impact sales. Additionally, the Ford Ranger once again overtook the Mitsubishi Xpander as the best-selling gasoline and diesel vehicle in the overall market.
Ford Ranger
According to the manufacturer, for the past 12 years, the Ford Ranger has consistently dominated the pickup truck segment in Vietnam. The formula for its success lies in the combination of attractive design and equipment, along with a diverse range of versions, offering various options at different price points for customers. In Vietnam, the Ford Ranger has the most variants, with six models priced from VND 669 million to VND 1.306 billion.
Under the hood, the Ford Ranger offers two diesel engine options with a 2.0L capacity. The first is a single-turbo engine that delivers a maximum output of 167 horsepower and a peak torque of 405 Nm. This engine is paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. The second engine is a twin-turbo unit, generating 207 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque, coupled with a 10-speed automatic gearbox.
Mitsubishi Triton: 216 units
The Mitsubishi Triton retained its position as the segment’s runner-up. Last month, Vietnamese customers purchased a total of 216 Triton units, representing a 12.1% decrease.
Mitsubishi Triton
This month, Mitsubishi is offering a subsidy equivalent to 50% of the registration fee for the Triton, ranging from VND 33 million to VND 46 million, depending on the variant. Additionally, customers will receive gifts worth VND 10 million, along with six free engine oil and filter changes.
Apart from the monthly promotions, the Triton also boasts a competitive price range, starting from VND 655 million to VND 924 million. The design and equipment have been significantly enhanced in the new generation, which was introduced in Vietnam in 2024.
The new-generation Triton features notable equipment such as an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, a 7-inch multi-information display integrated into the instrument cluster, a 9-inch center touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto connectivity, dual-zone automatic climate control, wireless charging, a 360-degree camera, forward collision mitigation, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, automatic headlights, blind-spot warning, and rear cross-traffic alert.
Powering the Triton is a 2.4L MIVEC turbocharged diesel engine with four cylinders. In the 2WD AT GLX and 2WD AT Premium variants, this engine produces 184 horsepower and 430 Nm of torque. The 4WD AT Athlete version generates 204 horsepower and 470 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission and is available with either rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive.
Toyota Hilux: 179 units
The Toyota Hilux was the only model in the segment to experience sales growth in February 2025. It sold 179 units, reflecting a 7.8% increase compared to the previous month.
Toyota Hilux
The Toyota Hilux is currently priced between VND 668 million and VND 999 million in Vietnam. For this price, customers will enjoy features such as a 9-inch touchscreen display, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, dual-zone automatic climate control, a 360-degree camera, six sensors, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.
The Toyota Hilux offers a choice of two engines. The first is a 2.4L four-cylinder diesel engine that produces 144 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. The second is a 2.8L four-cylinder turbocharged engine that delivers 201 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque. Both engines are paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission, along with the option of rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive.
Isuzu D-Max: 24 units
The Isuzu D-Max experienced the most significant decline in sales within the pickup truck segment. In February 2025, only 24 units were sold, representing a 57.8% decrease. Not only did it rank last in the segment, but the Isuzu D-Max also made it into the top 10 worst-selling vehicles in the overall market for that month.
Isuzu D-Max
The Isuzu D-Max is available in four variants, with prices starting from a modest VND 650 million to VND 880 million. Unfortunately, the competitive pricing does not make up for the vehicle’s lackluster design and features.
Notable features of the Isuzu D-Max include LED lighting, 18-inch wheels, a 7-inch multi-information display in the instrument cluster, a 9-inch center touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a USB Type-C port, black and brown leather upholstery, an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with CoolMax heat-reducing technology, UVA/UVB protective windshield, a Dynamic Surround Sound system with eight speakers, and dual-zone automatic climate control with PM2.5 air filtration.
