On March 16, 2025, a convoy of supercars worth nearly VND 400 billion belonging to billionaire Hoang Kim Khanh arrived in Da Nang city to prepare for a short tour to several provinces in Central Vietnam. However, the event was quickly canceled when the members of the convoy ran a red light at the intersection of Nguyen Van Linh and Phan Chau Trinh streets.
Soon after, the authorities stepped in and confirmed that 11 cars and 1 motorcycle were involved in the violation. They decided to temporarily confiscate 2 electronic driving licenses and 9 physical driving licenses from the drivers, and issued a total fine of VND 167 million.
Specifically, some of the scheduled exhibitions and parades in Quang Nam, Tam Ky, and Hoi An were canceled following this incident. Instead, the convoy only went to Hue for people to admire before parading on the road. The convoy included a full range of supercars.
The two most prominent cars in Hoang Kim Khanh’s fleet that appeared in Hue this time were the megacar Koenigsegg Regera and the McLaren Senna, although they were positioned in the middle of the convoy. This was also a rare occasion in nearly two years that the Koenigsegg Regera has made a public appearance.
All 80 of the Koenigsegg Regera megacars in the world feature a hybrid powertrain with a 5.0-liter V8 biturbo gasoline engine and three electric motors. The total output of this Swedish-made megacar exceeds 1,500 horsepower with a maximum torque of 2,000 Nm.
Hoang Kim Khanh’s Koenigsegg Regera can accelerate from a standstill to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 400 km/h. The Regera is capable of generating 450 kg of downforce at 250 km/h.
In addition, the fleet that participated in this event included other popular models such as the Ferrari SF90 Stradale, Ferrari 488 Pista Spider, Lamborghini Aventador S LP740-4, Aston Martin V8 Vantage, Porsche 911 Turbo S, Morgan Plus Six, Bentley Mulsanne, Bentley Bentayga V8, Cadillac, Lexus LX600, and BMW 428i.
