A New SUV Enters the Vietnamese Market, Competing with the Likes of Honda CR-V and Mazda CX-5

The Geely EX5, known as the Geely Galaxy E5 in China, has officially landed in Vietnam as of March 21.

The Geely EX5 is designed as a global model, with simultaneous testing conducted for both left-hand and right-hand drive vehicles. It is positioned as a direct competitor to the Honda CR-V and Mazda CX-5. With dimensions of 4,615 mm in length, 1,901 mm in width, and 1,670 mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2,750 mm, the EX5 sits comfortably in the same class as its rivals. Built on the Geely Electric Architecture (GEA) platform, it boasts an impressive drag coefficient of 0.269 Cd.

The front of the EX5 is characterized by its matrix-style grille, with sleek headlamps and DRLs integrated into a single unit, sitting below the hood. It also features a distinctive J-shaped LED light strip near the air intake on the front bumper.

From the side profile, the Geely EX5 showcases a sleek design with a prominent body line and hidden door handles, enhancing its aerodynamic efficiency.

The interior of the EX5 exudes simplicity and elegance, featuring a full LCD instrument cluster measuring 10.2 inches and a large, floating central control screen with a resolution of 2.5K. The 15.4-inch display supports Apple CarPlay and is complemented by the CarbitLink connectivity system.

Under the hood, the EX5 boasts an impressive electric powertrain, delivering 218 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque. Its 60.2 kWh battery offers a range of up to 430 kilometers on a single charge. With a 0-100 km/h sprint time of just 6.9 seconds, the EX5 also supports fast charging, taking only 20 minutes to charge from 30% to 80%, catering to the needs of modern Vietnamese customers.
