The Chinese electric car brand, Zeekr, recently made headlines at the 2025 Bangkok International Motor Show (BIMS) with the debut of their Zeekr 7X SUV.
This model was first introduced in its domestic market last September and is now preparing to enter Malaysia in Q3 2025. With dimensions of 4,825 mm in length, 1,930 mm in width, 1,666 mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2,925 mm, the Zeekr 7X is a direct competitor in the mid-size SUV segment, going up against the likes of Tesla Model Y and BYD Sealion 7.
The standard Zeekr 7X is equipped with a rear-mounted electric motor, delivering 416 horsepower and 440 Nm of torque. This variant offers two battery options: a 75 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) “Golden Brick” battery and a 100 kWh nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) “Qilin” battery. The LFP battery provides a range of 605 km under the CLTC standard (equivalent to 480 km WLTP), while the NMC battery offers a longer range of 780 km (615 km WLTP).
The all-wheel-drive (AWD) version, on the other hand, utilizes the NMC battery and adds a front electric motor, boosting the total output to 637 horsepower and 710 Nm of torque. It offers a range of 705 km (543 km WLTP). Air suspension comes standard on the AWD model and is optional on other variants.
In terms of charging, the Zeekr 7X supports fast DC charging, taking the battery from 10% to 80% in just 10.5 minutes for the LFP variant and 15 minutes for the NMC variant. The vehicle can also export power, offering a maximum output of 60 kW DC or 3.3 kW AC. All of this is supported by the PMA2+ platform with an 800V electrical architecture.
Step inside the 7X, and you’ll find a feature-rich cabin with a 13.02-inch digital instrument cluster, a 16-inch mini-LED touchscreen, dual Qi wireless charging, a 21-speaker audio system with headrest speakers, Nappa leather upholstery, and power-adjustable front and rear seats.
In China, the Zeekr 7X is priced from 229,900 RMB (approximately 812 million VND) to 269,900 RMB (954 million VND), making it more expensive than the BYD Sealion 7 but more affordable than the Tesla Model Y. Despite this, the Zeekr 7X is positioned as a more premium offering compared to the Sealion7.
