Thaco Auto has unveiled the New Peugeot 2008, a B-segment SUV. This is a facelift version of the current 2008 that was previously introduced in New Zealand and Malaysia.

Compared to its predecessor, the new model retains the same dimensions of 4,300 x 1,770 x 1,550 mm (length x width x height), with a wheelbase of 2,605 mm.

The most significant difference lies in its design, especially the front end. The “lion-claw” headlights have been refreshed, and the grille has been subtly refined to match the body color. The turn signal lights have also been updated, inheriting the design from the e-2008 sold in Europe.

The 17-18 inch alloy wheels come in two versions, each with unique rim designs inspired by famous European landmarks. The rim cap, borrowed from the 408, adds a sporty touch.

The interior boasts a modern and eye-catching look, featuring a 10-inch central infotainment screen compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The GT version offers a panoramic sunroof, electrically adjustable driver and passenger seats with massage function, and customizable interior lighting with eight color options.

Among the new features on the 2008 are a 360-degree surround view camera system and Cruise Control. Notably, the SUV also has a unique speed limit sign recognition feature within the B-SUV segment.

The New Peugeot 2008 is powered by a new-generation 1.2L Turbo Puretech engine, delivering 133 horsepower and 230 Nm of torque. Unfortunately, Thaco has not yet introduced the hybrid option to Vietnam.

The SUV is offered in two trim levels: Premium and GT. While the pricing has not been disclosed, according to dealer sources, the starting price is expected to exceed 800 million VND.

This European B-SUV is slightly more expensive when compared to competitors in the same segment, such as the Lynk & Co 06 (729 million VND), Omoda C5 (589-669 million VND), Toyota Yaris Cross (650-765 million VND), and Mitsubishi Xforce (599-705 million VND).
