A pre-owned McLaren 720S Spider was recently put up for sale, and it was discovered that the car was previously owned by a Miss World Peace 2017. The convertible supercar was quickly sold by the “trader” after just 2,600 km of enjoyment, before finding its new owner.
However, after just a few months of ownership, the seller decided to put the McLaren 720S Spider back on the market, having clocked over 2,400 km more. This brings the total mileage on the odometer of this convertible supercar to over 5,000 km, which is still relatively new compared to its peers, whose odometers typically read in the tens of thousands of kilometers.
The McLaren 720S Spider convertible supercar features four distinct differences from the Coupe version. Firstly, it boasts a retractable hardtop that takes just 11 seconds to open or close, according to the manufacturer.
Secondly, there is an additional small glass panel between the hardtop and the storage compartment that can be adjusted up and down. Thirdly, the engine compartment has been redesigned to accommodate the space needed for the retractable roof.
Lastly, while the McLaren 720S Spider retains the butterfly doors, the hinges connecting the doors to the fixed roof on the McLaren 720S have been removed, resulting in a sleeker door design.
The McLaren 720S Spider is powered by a 4.0-liter V8 engine with twin-turbochargers, delivering a maximum output of 710 horsepower and 770 Nm of torque.
The power is transmitted to the wheels through a 7-speed automatic transmission, enabling the McLaren 720S Spider to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds, reaching a top speed of 325 km/h or 341 km/h, depending on whether the roof is open or closed.
