On December 1, 2024, Toyota Motor Vietnam announced its sales figures for the previous month. Accordingly, in November 2024, Toyota Vietnam sold 8,693 units, including 4,132 domestically assembled vehicles and 4,561 completely built-up imported units. This figure represents a slight 0.49% decrease compared to October 2024.

Meanwhile, the luxury brand Lexus sold 158 units, a 2.4% decline. The cumulative sales since the introduction of the brand in Vietnam reached 13,567 units.

Combining the sales of Lexus, Toyota Vietnam’s total sales reached 8,851 units, a 0.52% decrease. With this result, Toyota Vietnam has recorded sales of over 8,000 units for two consecutive months, bringing the cumulative sales for 2024 to more than 59,000 units. In 2025, which marks the 30th anniversary of its presence in the Vietnamese market, Toyota aims to reach the milestone of 1 million units sold.

Additionally, in November 2024, Toyota sold 608 hybrid vehicles to Vietnamese customers, a 31.1% decrease. The cumulative sales of Toyota hybrid vehicles in the first 11 months of this year reached 4,489 units.

The best-selling Toyota model in November was the Vios, with 2,135 units sold, a 21.5% growth. This was followed by the Toyota Yaris Cross, with 1,188 units sold, a 21.3% decrease. Similar to the Yaris Cross, the Toyota Corolla Cross also experienced a sales decline of 17.9%, selling 1,150 units. Meanwhile, the Toyota Veloz Cross saw an increase of 8%, with 1,146 units delivered to Vietnamese customers.

Brand Origin Model November 2024 Sales (Units) Change from October 2024
Toyota CKD Vios 2,135 +21.5%
CBU Yaris Cross 1,188 -21.3%

Toyota’s sales performance in November remained stable, partly due to the continued benefit of the government’s support policy for registration fees for domestically assembled vehicles. This was coupled with the company’s promotional programs for models such as the Toyota Vios, Yaris Cross, Veloz Cross, Avanza Premio, and Corolla Cross in the previous month.

In December 2024, the government’s policy of supporting 50% of the registration fee for domestically produced and assembled vehicles expired. This is expected to significantly impact the sales of Toyota Vietnam in particular and the domestic automobile market in general. To boost year-end sales and compensate for the lack of registration fee incentives, automakers and dealers will likely introduce new promotional programs.
