On April 4, 2025, Honda held an event to announce the selling price and sales policy of the ICON e: electric motorcycle in Vietnam. This model was first exhibited in Vietnam at the VMS 2024 exhibition, which took place in October last year.

The first Honda ICON e: officially rolled out of the factory in Vinh Phuc on March 27, 2025. The vehicle is sold in Vietnam in three versions and six colors, with a price range of VND 26.4 – 27.3 million, including a charger.

Furthermore, Honda launched a battery rental service through 132 motorcycle sales and service dealerships (HEAD). The batteries will be rented out through subscription packages, along with a comprehensive insurance package. Notably, customers can use the batteries without any mileage limitations. The rental cost for the Honda ICON e: battery is as follows:

The comprehensive insurance package that customers will receive during the battery rental period includes:

  • Compulsory civil liability insurance for motor vehicle owners;
  • Personal accident insurance for passengers;
  • Insurance for battery damage.

The entire payment and contract signing process will be done online via the My Honda+ application, allowing customers to quickly, conveniently, and easily transact anytime, anywhere, with a clear transaction history and detailed notifications.

ICON e: is the first electric motorcycle model produced by Honda in Vietnam. This model does not require a license, and Honda affirms that it is an ideal choice for students aged 16 and above.

The Honda ICON e: features a youthful and modern design with sleek lines, a compact size suitable for the Vietnamese physique, especially students. The vehicle has a seat height of only 742 mm, a ground clearance of 132 mm, and a weight of 89 kg, making it agile and maneuverable on Vietnamese roads.

In addition, this electric motorcycle is equipped with an LED lighting system, including a front light that always stays on, a rear light and turn signals designed as a single unit, combined with a minimalist logo, a spacious flat floorboard, a 26-liter storage compartment under the seat, two storage compartments in the front, a USB Type-A phone charging port, and a digital LCD instrument cluster. The vehicle also features a combined braking system (CBS).

The power source for Honda’s new electric motorcycle is an in-wheel motor integrated into the rear wheel, with a maximum output of 1.5 kW and peak torque of 85 Nm, contributing to the vehicle’s sleek design. The battery is a lithium-ion 30.6 Ah unit with an IP67 waterproof rating, located under the floorboard, while the power control unit (PCU) is placed under the storage compartment.

When fully charged, the battery allows the Honda ICON e: to travel up to 50 km at a maximum speed of 49 km/h. Notably, users can charge the battery directly on the vehicle or remove it for charging. The battery casing is made of lightweight yet sturdy aluminum alloy and is waterproof. The top of the battery features a rubber handle for easy grip and indicator lights to monitor the battery’s charging status. Charging time from 0% to 100% is 7 hours and 20 minutes, while charging from 25% to 75% takes 3.5 hours.

The Honda ICON e:’s handlebar is equipped with a sensor to detect throttle operations. Users can choose between two driving modes: Standard and ECO. The ECO mode is designed for gentle riding and is suitable for first-time motorcycle riders. It also helps save battery power, increasing the travel range by about 15% compared to the Standard mode.

Honda Vietnam will coordinate with the HEAD system to implement a buy-back and refurbishment policy for the ICON e:. Specifically, when the vehicle meets the conditions regarding paperwork, maintenance, appearance, and operating status, HEAD commits to repurchasing it at an attractive price. The buy-back value is determined transparently based on criteria such as mileage, vehicle age, maintenance history, and the actual condition of the parts.

According to the plan, the Honda ICON e: will officially hit the Vietnamese market on April 12, 2025. The vehicle comes with a three-year warranty with unlimited mileage.
