Hyundai Unveils the Second-Generation Nexo FCEV at the Seoul Mobility Show in South Korea

While it may look like a futuristic concept car, this is, in fact, the complete commercial version, directly influenced by the Initium Concept that Hyundai introduced in October 2024.

The 2026 Hyundai Nexo is developed following the “Art of Steel” design language, resulting in a robust and modern appearance, a stark contrast to the softer, rounder style of its predecessor.

The front of the car features a unique LED light signature named “HTWO,” with four distinctive points of light on each side. With its tall, bold design and features such as contrasting black wheel arch cladding, the Nexo 2026 stands out from the rest of Hyundai’s model range. Notably, the side windows are designed with a thick C-pillar that runs through the glass and connects to the rear door, creating a distinctive and eye-catching look.

Not only does the Nexo 2026 have a striking appearance, but Hyundai has also focused on significantly enhancing its fuel cell powertrain. The vehicle is equipped with a fuel cell stack that delivers 147 horsepower, paired with an electric motor generating 201 horsepower.

Thanks to these improvements, the Nexo can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.8 seconds. Additionally, the hydrogen tank capacity has been increased from 6.33 kg to 6.69 kg, allowing the car to travel over 700 kilometers on a single fill. Furthermore, refueling takes just five minutes, which is incredibly impressive compared to traditional battery-powered vehicles.

The 2026 Nexo also features Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, enabling it to power external devices. This new version also offers the option of digital mirrors.

In terms of interior, the Hyundai Nexo 2026 maintains a refined and luxurious feel, incorporating familiar elements from SUVs such as the Santa Fe and Palisade. It boasts a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a matching 12.3-inch central infotainment screen. Additionally, it includes a 12-inch head-up display and a premium Bang & Olufsen sound system with 14 speakers. Another notable feature is the separate touch-sensitive climate control panel, providing a more intuitive and user-friendly experience.

The Hyundai Nexo 2026 also comes with dual wireless phone charging, wireless Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto connectivity. Digital mirrors are offered as an optional extra for added convenience.

Hyundai has not yet disclosed pricing or market-specific distribution plans, but more details are expected to be released in the coming months.
