Despite the challenges posed by the Trump administration’s new 25% import tariff on automobiles, which has temporarily halted shipments to the US, Audi has teased its new A6 sedan model.

The new Audi A6 is the sedan version of the recently launched A6 Avant in Europe. The car is scheduled to be officially unveiled on April 15th.

While not many details have been revealed, car enthusiasts can get a good idea of the A6 Sedan’s design from the recently launched Avant. The new sedan’s design is similar to the Avant, with a distinct difference at the rear, featuring a unique style with a full-width LED light bar and a pair of sportier tailpipes.

In terms of interior, the new Audi A6 sedan boasts a cabin designed in the style of the A6 Avant. It features a large digital instrument cluster, a large central touchscreen, and a smaller screen for the passenger seat.

Notably, Audi had considered renaming the gasoline-powered (or diesel-powered in Europe) sedan and wagon models to A7 to distinguish them from the electric A6 e-tron. However, these plans were scrapped at the last minute, and the A6 nameplate was retained.

Under the hood, the A6 sedan will share its powertrain with the Avant, offering a 2.0L TFSI gasoline engine with 201 horsepower and a 3.0L TFSI V6 with 362 horsepower. In other markets, a 2.0 TDI diesel engine with 201 horsepower will also be available.

Audi has not yet confirmed whether the high-performance S6 or RS6 models will be offered on the sedan, or if they will be exclusive to the Avant. Rumors suggest that the RS6 will feature a V8 or V6 plug-in hybrid engine.

The 2025 Audi A6 Sedan is expected to go on sale in Europe in the third quarter of this year, with the US market to follow, provided there are no further complications with tariffs.
