Following Mazda’s adjustment of the CX-5’s starting price to 694 million VND to clear 2024 inventory, Ford has quickly responded with deep discounts on the Territory.

According to a Ford dealer in Hanoi, the Territory Trend (standard version) is now offered at a price of 689 million VND, a discount of up to 70 million VND from the listed price. Higher versions are also deeply discounted, ranging from 70 to 80 million VND depending on the dealer, creating a competitive price point against its rival, the Mazda CX-5.

This move is believed to be a clearance sale to make way for the new model. Recently, a 2025 Ford Territory was spotted on Vietnamese roads, partially covered to conceal its front and rear design. Ford Vietnam has not released any official confirmation, while dealers remain tight-lipped.

The 2025 Territory spotted in Vietnam has a few differences compared to the model sold in the Chinese market, where it is known as the Ford Equator Sport. Specifically, the mirror caps and the area below the lights are painted in the body color, unlike the black finish on the international version. This could be a feature of the standard version, while higher variants may retain the design similarities with the Chinese model to stand out.

In terms of interior, the 2025 Territory is expected to largely maintain its current design. It will likely continue to offer a modern design with a dual-screen setup measuring 12.3 inches each, placed seamlessly together. Convenience features are also expected to remain unchanged, as this is a mid-cycle refresh rather than an entirely new generation.

The Ford Territory 2025 in Vietnam will likely be powered by the same 1.5L EcoBoost engine, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. This configuration generates 168 horsepower and 260 Nm of torque.

Despite its modern design and spacious interior, with a wheelbase of 2,726 mm, the Ford Territory has not been able to outsell the Mazda CX-5. In 2024, the CX-5 sold 14,781 units, nearly twice as many as the Territory’s 8,125 sales. The CX-5 currently has a starting price of 749 million VND and offers multiple versions to cater to diverse customer needs.

In early December 2024, Ford adjusted the Territory’s pricing, reducing it by 40 million VND across all versions, resulting in a price range of 759-889 million VND. However, this price cut did not significantly impact its sales performance.
