Maruti Suzuki, a joint venture between Suzuki and Indian conglomerate Maruti, has officially unveiled the mid-life facelift of its urban SUV, the Grand Vitara 2025.
The Grand Vitara 2025 will be available in four trim levels: Sigma, Delta, Zeta, and Alpha, with a starting price of 1.142 million rupees (approximately 342 million VND).Â
The exterior of the Grand Vitara 2025 remains largely unchanged from its predecessor. It continues to showcase a sporty design language with bold lines, a powerful front end, and a robust stance. LED headlights are featured on the higher-end models, ensuring optimal illumination and adding a modern touch to the vehicle’s front fascia.
The most noticeable change lies in the wheel design. While retaining the 17-inch size, the new wheels feature a fan-like aircraft-inspired design, enhancing the vehicle’s overall aesthetics and distinctiveness.
In contrast to the exterior, the cabin of the Grand Vitara 2025 has received significant upgrades, particularly in the Zeta and Alpha trims. For the first time in this segment, the mid-range variant is equipped with a fully digital instrument cluster, offering enhanced information display and customization options.
The vehicle boasts an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with ventilation, a head-up display, and an electronic parking brake with an auto-hold function—features typically found in higher-end vehicles. Additionally, the automatic climate control system now includes a PM2.5 dust and air filtration function, catering to the needs of driving in congested urban areas.
On the top-of-the-line trim, the Grand Vitara 2025 offers a panoramic sunroof, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, and an upgraded Clarion sound system. These features elevate the overall ownership experience and bring the SUV closer to the standards of mid-size vehicles.
Safety has been prioritized with the inclusion of six airbags as standard across all variants. The addition of a 360-degree surround-view camera system enhances parking convenience and improves the driver’s visibility. These safety features give the Grand Vitara a competitive edge over its rivals.
Maruti Suzuki offers the Grand Vitara 2025 with two hybrid powertrain options. The first utilizes a mild-hybrid 1.5L naturally aspirated engine, producing 103 horsepower, similar to other Suzuki models such as the XL7, Ertiga, and Swift in Southeast Asia. This configuration is paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission, focusing on efficient city driving.
The second option is a full-hybrid system developed by Toyota, combining a 1.5L gasoline engine with an electric motor and an e-CVT transmission. The total system output stands at 115 horsepower. This setup has been well-received in models like the Toyota Yaris Cross and Corolla Cross Hybrid for its fuel efficiency and smooth performance.
Although Suzuki Vietnam has not released any official statements, rumors persist about the potential introduction of the Grand Vitara to the Vietnamese market. With its competitive pricing, hybrid technology, and brand reputation, the Grand Vitara 2025 has the potential to become a formidable contender in the urban SUV segment.
