In addition to the Italian supercar brands Ferrari and Lamborghini, Vietnamese enthusiasts also favor the British marque McLaren. It is estimated that over 50 McLaren supercars are on the roads in Vietnam, including three exclusive and expensive masterpieces: two Senna models and a McLaren Elva owned by Minh “Nhựa.”

However, today’s article is not about these three models but instead focuses on a hybrid supercar named the McLaren Artura Spider. Specifically, this is the third McLaren Artura Spider convertible to be spotted in Vietnam.

Another McLaren Artura Spider Supercar Has Arrived in Vietnam

The previous two McLaren Artura Spiders were in purple and black, while this new arrival sports an eye-catching orange exterior with a multi-spoke wheel design and numerous black accents.

The McLaren Artura Spider can retract or deploy its roof in under 11 seconds, similar to its sibling, the McLaren 720S Spider. This can be done while the car is in motion, but it’s important to note that the vehicle’s speed must be below 50 km/h during the process.

The McLaren Artura Spider’s chassis is constructed from carbon fiber (McLaren Carbon Lightweight Architecture), ensuring that the car maintains its structural rigidity even with the roof down. With a dry weight of 1,457 kg, it is 61 kg heavier than the coupe version, but it still claims the title of the lightest supercar in its segment.

Interestingly, the McLaren Artura Spider is powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine combined with an electric motor, producing a total of 690 horsepower—a 19 horsepower increase over the coupe version. It also delivers an impressive 722 Nm of torque.

Sending power to the rear wheels, the Artura Spider can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3 seconds, reach 200 km/h in 8.4 seconds, and hit 300 km/h in 21.6 seconds. Its top speed is an astonishing 330 km/h.

The supercar utilizes an 8-speed SSG automatic transmission with adjustments that improve shift speed by 25%. One unique feature is that the electric motor handles reverse gear, which is not present in the coupe version.

With a 7.4 kWh battery pack, the Artura Spider can travel up to 35 km on electric power alone. It offers four driving modes: Comfort, Sport, Track, and E (Electric), with the latter being the default startup mode.
