In March 2025, members of the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA) sold a total of 31,750 units, a growth of 47% compared to the previous month and 16% over the same period last year. Of these, there were 22,339 passenger cars, 9,231 commercial vehicles, and 180 specialized vehicles. Compared to February 2025, passenger cars grew by 53%, commercial vehicles by 36%, while specialized vehicles decreased by 36%.
Additionally, the sales of domestically assembled vehicles reached 14,887 units, an increase of 35% from the previous month. The corresponding figure for completely built-up imported vehicles was 16,863 units, a rise of 60%.
Currently, Hyundai Thanh Cong has not yet announced its sales figures for March 2025. Meanwhile, VinFast delivered more than 12,100 electric vehicles to domestic consumers, a slight decrease of 3.2% from the previous month.
The growth of the domestic automobile market has impacted the list of the 10 worst-selling models in Vietnam. Some vehicles have escaped this top 10 list, such as the Suzuki Jimny and Isuzu D-Max. Most of the remaining models remain with modest sales.

10 worst-selling car models in the Vietnamese market in March 2025 (unit: cars)
Specifically, the worst-selling model in the Vietnamese market in March 2025 was still the Honda Accord. In the past month, Honda sold only 5 Accords to Vietnamese customers, a growth of 150%. The cumulative sales in the first quarter of 2025 of this D-segment sedan also reached only 12 units.
In March 2025, Honda continued to offer cash incentives of up to VND 250 million for the Accord. Unfortunately, the highest promotion program in the D-segment sedan segment could not improve the sales of the Honda Accord.
In addition to the high list price of up to VND 1.319 billion and only one version, the Honda Accord is also unpopular because it has not been upgraded in terms of design or equipment for a long time. The decline of the mid-size sedan segment in the Vietnamese market is also partly responsible for the poor sales performance of this model.
Honda Accord continues to be the worst-selling model in Vietnam in March 2025.
The second position in the top 10 remains with the Toyota Land Cruiser, with sales of only 6 units, a growth of 200% over the previous month. This is not surprising as the large SUV from Toyota is originally priced high and not affordable for the majority of consumers.
In March 2025, the listed price of the Toyota Land Cruiser LC300 increased by up to VND 294 million to VND 4.58 billion. If you buy the Toyota Land Cruiser LC300 in the pearl white color option, customers need to pay an additional VND 20 million, an increase of VND 9 million. The new price will make the vehicle even more unaffordable for many Vietnamese customers.
