Images of a Suzuki Fronx at an emission test center in Hanoi have sparked great interest online, suggesting that this urban SUV model may be launched in the market soon.
According to some dealer sources, the Suzuki Fronx is likely to be officially introduced in the second quarter of this year. Currently, Suzuki Vietnam has not released any official information related to this model.
Previously, some dealers also revealed the possibility of launching the new Swift, but the distributor denied it. Therefore, information about Fronx is still awaited by consumers and experts alike.
The Suzuki Fronx is a compact SUV/crossover, first introduced in the Indian market in 2023. It is based on the Baleno hatchback platform but features a sporty, high-riding design characteristic of urban SUVs. Earlier, a camouflaged Fronx prototype was spotted testing in Indonesia in February 2025, sparking speculation about its imminent launch in Southeast Asia, with Vietnam potentially being the first market to receive the vehicle.
The Fronx measures 3,995 mm in length, 1,765 mm in width, and 1,550 mm in height. Its exterior shares similarities with the Suzuki Grand Vitara, especially in the front grille and headlight design. The front bumper is angular, with fog lamps placed within triangular housings, creating a striking accent.
The Fronx’s interior boasts a modern style, featuring a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The steering wheel design is familiar, similar to other Suzuki models such as the XL7, Ertiga, and Swift.
In the Indian market, the Suzuki Fronx offers two petrol engine options. The first is a 1.0L BoosterJet turbocharged engine with mild-hybrid technology, producing 99 horsepower and 148 Nm of torque, paired with a 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission.
The second is a 1.2L K-Series Dual Jet naturally aspirated engine, generating 89 horsepower and 113 Nm of torque, coupled with a 5-speed manual or AMT (AGS) automatic transmission.
In Vietnam, the Fronx is likely to be offered with only automatic transmission options to cater to the local market preferences.
