MG is set to unveil its brand new all-electric SUV, the Cyber X, at the upcoming Auto Shanghai 2025 later this month in April.
Cyber X is the latest addition to the MG Cyber family – a collection of sporty and stylish electric vehicles, currently consisting of the Cyberster convertible. However, unlike its drop-top sibling, the Cyber X boasts a bold and boxy design, taking inspiration from iconic off-roaders such as the Mercedes-Benz G-Class and the latest Toyota Land Cruiser Prado.
Despite its muscular stance, the Cyber X is surprisingly compact, similar in size to the Suzuki Jimny.
Cyber X showcases a modern design language with sleek LED lights stretching across both the front and rear. The illuminated MG logo takes center stage, complemented by high-mounted brake lights, a typical feature on SUVs geared towards off-roading. Additionally, the roof rack adds a practical touch for those long-distance adventures.
Technically, the Cyber X is built on MG’s new E3 platform, accommodating a pure electric powertrain. The brand has also left the door open for a potential plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variant, depending on market demand. This flexibility allows MG to cater to diverse markets with region-specific options.
While MG has not disclosed pricing or detailed specifications yet, the Cyber X, with its urban SUV dimensions and stylish appeal, is likely to be affordably priced, targeting younger audiences seeking a greener, more characterful ride.
Cyber X is one of eight new global models that MG plans to introduce over the next two years. At Auto Shanghai 2025, the brand will also unveil the second generation of the MG4 – an electric hatchback that has already found success in Europe.
