The Vietnamese auto market has witnessed notable changes in just the first quarter of 2025.

Once top-selling models like the Toyota Vios, Mitsubishi Xpander, and Mazda CX-5 are now absent from the best-selling list.

Instead, domestic electric vehicles, especially the VinFast VF 3 and VF 5, have surged to the top spots. This is the first time that domestically produced electric vehicles have directly competed with and outsold many traditional models in the first quarter.

Notably, the top 10 best-selling cars of Q1 2025 do not include any Korean models. Names that once “dominated” the market, such as Hyundai Accent, Hyundai Creta, and Kia Seltos, are now absent, indicating a significant slowdown for Korean brands in Vietnam.

Here are the 10 best-selling cars of Q1 2025:

VinFast VF 3: 12,900 units

The VinFast VF 3 was the best-selling car in the market for Q1 2025, with sales of 12,900 units.

The VF 3 is VinFast’s smallest model, featuring a boxy, masculine design. It has a range of 210 km and a 43 hp electric motor. Currently, the VinFast VF 3 is priced at 299 million VND, including the battery.
