The Hanoi Police’s Traffic Police Division has recently updated the list of traffic violations captured by their surveillance cameras. According to statistics, nearly 500 cars were recorded violating traffic rules in February, including offenses such as speeding, reckless driving, lane discipline violations, and illegal parking.
Here are the two main methods and steps to check if your vehicle has been caught for a traffic violation and issued a fine:
Checking on the Online Portal
On the online portal of the Traffic Police Department (accessible here), you can enter your license plate number in the search box displayed on the right side of the homepage. Then, enter the captcha code shown in the left box. This code consists of six digits and changes with each search request.

If a traffic violation has been recorded, the portal will display a table with details including the license plate number, plate color, time and location of the violation, the specific violation, and the authority handling the administrative penalty.
Checking on the VNeTraffic App
After downloading and logging into the VNeTraffic app, you can check for traffic violations through the “Violation Inquiry” feature displayed on the home screen.

If a violation has been recorded, the app will show the details of the violation, including the time and location, similar to the information provided by the Traffic Police Department’s portal.
In addition to VNeTraffic and the online portal, you can also check for traffic violations through the “National Cold Penalty Inquiry” app or the online portal of the Vietnam Register (accessible here) under the “Motor Vehicle Inquiry for Owners” section.
