An Astonishing Launch Event for the BYD Sealion 6 and Sealion 8

With the theme “Transcending Expectations, Crossing Borders,” the special launch and test drive event took place in a space of over 6,000 square meters, the most professional and spectacular setting to date at the F1 Racing Course in My Dinh, Hanoi. Inspired by the global green technology wave, the launch event for the BYD Sealion 6 and Sealion 8 was held in an impressive space of over 2,000 square meters, designed with a modern and futuristic technological language, combined with an interactive LED lighting system and multi-dimensional sound effects, creating a vibrant and visually striking atmosphere that was also emotionally engaging for attendees.

The event was attended by over 70 reputable media agencies, along with numerous journalists, reporters, and editors in Vietnam, as well as over 100 representatives from investors, partners, and dealers nationwide. The guests not only got to directly admire the impressive appearance of the two SUV models being introduced to Vietnam for the first time, but they also had the opportunity to explore BYD’s exclusive core technologies – from the e-Platform 3.0 foundation, DM-i Super Hybrid powertrain to the globally renowned Blade battery technology.

At the launch event, BYD Vietnam officially introduced a special promotion program for the first 1,000 customers to own the Sealion 6 at a price starting from only 799 million VND*. This model has been quickly delivered to many customers who had previously made reservations, while also receiving hundreds of new orders, reflecting the product’s appeal and market feedback in the DM-i Super Hybrid SUV segment in Vietnam. The strong interest from consumers demonstrates the growing trust in high-quality new energy vehicles and BYD’s agile product positioning strategy during this green transition phase.

In parallel with the events held in Hanoi, the Sealion 6 and Sealion 8 duo were also simultaneously displayed and launched at numerous official BYD Vietnam dealerships nationwide, including: BYD Oway, BYD Vo Van Kiet, BYD Nam Dinh, BYD NEG Tien Giang, BYD Harmony Saigon, BYD VIG Binh Duong, and BYD Ba Ria – Vung Tau,… Each dealership meticulously organized the launch event with professionalism, creating a buzz in their respective localities and helping customers in many areas get an early look at BYD’s newest model.

BYD Technology Week – Experiencing Technology, Affirming Performance

The highlight of the launch activities was the BYD Technology Week event, which took place over the next two days – April 19 and 20 – at the F1 Racing Course in My Dinh. With an area of over 4,000 square meters, the event attracted more than 2,200 attendees, including over 800 direct test drives. This is truly an impressive number, reflecting the strong appeal of BYD’s new SUV duo.

Customers participated in in-depth experience sessions, simulating rigorous real-world driving scenarios such as straight-line acceleration, rough road crossing, simulated 45-degree hill climbing, emergency braking, sudden lane changing, and zig-zag maneuvering. Each test was designed to showcase the maximum capabilities of the e-Platform 3.0 foundation, the stability of the intelligent iTAC traction control system on the BYD Sealion 8, and the superior torque distribution of the DM-i Super Hybrid engine on the Sealion 6.

Particularly, many customers who experienced electric vehicles for the first time expressed their surprise at the smooth acceleration, precise steering feedback, excellent sound insulation, and high-tech interior of the Sealion 6 and Sealion 8.

Not stopping at Hanoi, the BYD Technology Week series will continue to be held at least 9 other locations nationwide in 2025, with the next expected location being Ho Chi Minh City in May. At each site, customers will not only be able to test drive the new models but also receive in-depth consultations on technology, preferential policies, and the ecosystem being built by BYD Vietnam.
