A private scooter dealership in the Ho Chi Minh City area recently offered a special edition of the Honda Vario 160, named the Honda Vario 160 Repsol Edition.
Accordingly, this limited edition is produced in a limited quantity of approximately 2,000 units in Malaysia and is being imported to Vietnam with an expected price of up to over VND 100 million, nearly double the standard version. In Malaysia, the model is priced at RM10,498 (equivalent to approximately VND 62.3 million).
Honda Vario 160 Repsol Edition has a length of 1,929mm, a width of 695mm, and a height of 1,088mm. The scooter weighs 119kg, has a seat height of 778mm, and a fuel tank capacity of 5.5 liters.
True to its name, the Honda Vario 160 Repsol Edition features a special design inspired by the Repsol Honda racing team in the MotoGP racing championship. This model stands out with its orange, red, and white colors, along with 14-inch orange wheels. The scooter is also fitted with tubeless tires, sized 100/80 for the front and 120/70 for the rear.
While the design and colors are unique, the equipment of this model remains unchanged from the standard version currently sold by official dealers in Vietnam. Specifically, the scooter features LED lights, a smart key, an LCD display, a USB-A charging port, and a storage compartment with a capacity of 18 liters. In terms of safety, the scooter is equipped with disc brakes on both the front and rear wheels, with ABS anti-lock braking on the front wheel.
Powering the Honda Vario 160 Repsol Edition is a single-cylinder engine with a capacity of 157cc, delivering a maximum power of 15.3 horsepower and a torque of 13.8Nm, providing robust performance.
However, it is important to note that privately imported vehicles will not be covered by the official warranty, and after-sales benefits will depend on the agreement between the customer and the business unit.
For customers who own the Honda Vario 160 standard version and wish to transform their scooter into the Repsol Edition, they can opt for a full-body Repsol sticker, priced between VND 1-1.5 million, depending on the material and workshop.
Additionally, repainting the wheels can cost around VND 5-10 million. Nevertheless, the quality and accuracy of these details will depend on the skill of the workshop and the amount invested. This is a cost-effective solution compared to purchasing the special edition, which costs over VND 100 million.
