The Nissan Frontier Pro, a hybrid pickup truck, was the highlight of the brand’s showcase at the 2025 Shanghai Auto Show. However, it wasn’t the only electrified vehicle on display. The all-new Nissan N7 also made an appearance and stole the show. First revealed at the 2024 Guangzhou Auto Show in November last year, the N7 is a sleek and innovative sedan.
The Nissan N7 makes its official debut, challenging the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord.
Developed by Nissan in collaboration with Dongfeng Motor Corporation, the N7 is the commercial version of the Epoch concept car, first unveiled at the 2024 Beijing Auto Show. Falling into the D-segment sedan category, the N7 boasts impressive dimensions: 4,930 mm in length, 1,895 mm in width, 1,487 mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2,915 mm.

What sets the N7 apart from its sibling, the Frontier, is its focus on aerodynamics. With a drag coefficient of just 0.208 Cd, it is one of the most aerodynamically efficient production cars today, second only to the Mercedes-Benz EQS (0.202 Cd). This focus on aerodynamics optimizes the range after each charge.

However, this pursuit of a sleek design has led to a rather bland exterior, and some have noted its resemblance to the Xpeng P7. The front of the N7 features a sleek and modern design with a horizontal LED daytime running light bar, reminiscent of Hyundai’s styling. Below this are the LED headlights in the shape of the number ‘7’, surrounded by a glossy black trim that extends to the center air intake on the front bumper.

The side profile reveals hidden door handles, large windows, and two-tone alloy wheels. The body lacks the usual creases and lines, contributing to its smooth and aerodynamic shape. At the rear, the N7 sports thin, full-width LED taillights and a glossy black trim on the bumper, similar to the front.

The interior of the N7 follows current trends, featuring a large 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system with a 2.5K resolution and a digital instrument cluster. With such a large screen, physical buttons are kept to a minimum, except for two on the steering wheel.

The seating is designed for comfort, with the front seats featuring AI-based posture adjustment and 12-point massage functions. A unique feature is the small refrigerator located under the center armrest, capable of cooling drinks to -6°C or heating them up to 55°C.

Under the hood, the N7 doesn’t offer anything groundbreaking compared to its electric vehicle competitors. It features a 400 V system instead of the more advanced 800 V technology. There are two battery options: a 58 kWh and a 73 kWh battery, with motor outputs ranging from 215 to 268 horsepower. Nissan claims that the larger battery can provide a range of up to 635 km on a single charge, based on China’s CLTC standard.
For now, Nissan plans to sell the N7 only in the Chinese market, and pricing details have not yet been disclosed.
