**Danang’s Finance Department Auctions Off Government Vehicles, Including Vintage Models**

The Finance Department of Danang City is coordinating with relevant units to auction off a range of government vehicles, mostly general-use cars manufactured between 1997 and 2012.

According to the auction list, the lowest starting price is for a 2002 Toyota Hiace RZH I14L – BRMRS, going for just over VND 14 million. In contrast, a 2009 Mercedes-Benz E300 (W212) has the highest starting price at nearly VND 471 million.

Additionally, various other models, such as the Ford Everest UV9F and the Hyundai Sonata, are up for auction with prices ranging from VND 15 million to over VND 400 million.

Notably, among the vehicles being auctioned, four buses have exceeded their service life, and three sedans were damaged due to flooding on October 14-15, 2022. This includes a 1998 Toyota Camry with a starting price of over VND 87 million. The announced prices exclude value-added tax.

This auction is part of the asset management plan following the merger of Quang Nam Province and Danang City. Post-merger, the total number of government vehicles from both localities stands at 760, with 470 in Danang and 290 in Quang Nam Province.

The post-merger asset management plan is clear: vehicles serving official positions will continue to be allocated to those with eligible usage according to regulations. General-use vehicles at the provincial level will be distributed to administrative, Party, Fatherland Front, and mass organizations, as well as public non-business units under the management of the new Danang City. County-level vehicles will also be arranged for grassroots units, ensuring compliance with current standards and norms.

For specialized vehicles like ambulances, fire trucks, environmental, defense, and security vehicles, the proposal suggests continued use for their original purposes.

Following the issuance of a new decree by the Government to replace Decree 72, the Danang Finance Department will take the lead in advising the City People’s Committee on issuing new standards and norms for government vehicle usage. They will also develop a detailed roadmap to continue arranging and handling public assets per regulations.
