A stunning Ferrari Portofino M spider convertible has captured the attention of Vietnam’s elite, as a renowned pre-owned car dealership in Hanoi advertised its sale. Interestingly, this is not the first time a Ferrari Portofino M has been up for grabs in the country.

In fact, there are now two of these red Ferrari Portofino M convertibles in Vietnam, making it challenging to tell them apart. The most noticeable difference between the two is the brake caliper color—one sports a vibrant yellow, while the other sticks to a classic red.

This particular Ferrari Portofino M, with its yellow brake calipers, is one of the two currently in the Vietnamese market. Notably, it was the first of its kind in the country, but it had been missing from the streets for quite some time. With just over 8,000 km on the odometer, this pre-owned supercar is priced at over 10 billion VND.

In 2008, Ferrari introduced the California—a dedicated convertible model with a simple yet significant name that paid homage to the Ferrari 250 GT California Spyder of the 1950s and the 365 California of the 1960s. Positioned as an affordable Ferrari, the California introduced new design elements and, notably, offered four seats—a rare feature for the “prancing horse” brand at the time.

A decade later, the California was succeeded by the Portofino, unveiled at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show. Like its predecessor, the Portofino is a dedicated spider convertible with a stylish and practical hard-top roof, ensuring durability and longevity.

While the California enjoyed a ten-year production run, the Portofino had a shorter lifespan, from 2017 to 2023. During its lifecycle, the Portofino received a mid-life upgrade, resulting in the Portofino M, with the ‘M’ standing for ‘Modificata’, which means ‘tweaked’ in Italian. This upgrade brought about design refinements and a boost in performance.

Under the hood, the Ferrari Portofino M retains the 3.9-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine but with a twist. This refined powerplant now produces a mighty 612 horsepower, an increase of 20 horsepower, and a peak torque of 760 Nm, matching the formidable Ferrari Roma.

With this enhanced power, the Portofino M sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 3.45 seconds and reaches 200 km/h in 9.8 seconds, ultimately topping out at a breathtaking 320 km/h.

Additionally, the Portofino M incorporates the latest Side Slip Control 6.0 technology and an upgraded 8-speed dual-clutch transmission. This new gearbox features smaller clutches, reducing weight by 20% while handling 35% more torque than its predecessor’s 7-speed unit.
