The all-new Jeep Compass has arrived with comprehensive changes to its design, technical foundation, and powertrain.

Despite retaining the quintessential Jeep design with its characteristic sharp angles, the new Compass has transitioned to the new STLA Medium platform, shared with the Peugeot 3008 and 5008, abandoning the old Fiat-Chrysler structure.

The overall design of the 2026 Compass maintains some iconic Jeep elements, such as the signature seven-slot grille, but with a modern twist. It features sleeker horizontal headlamps flanking the sides, complemented by an X-shaped LED taillight cluster that connects through a glowing Jeep logo, creating a striking visual signature.

The body retains its rugged appeal with prominent black plastic cladding around the wheel arches and lower bumpers. Certain variants will offer a contrasting black roof, matrix LED lighting, a panoramic sunroof, and 20-inch two-tone alloy wheels. For off-road enthusiasts, smaller wheel options are available to optimize performance on rugged terrain.

The 2026 Compass stays true to the Jeep brand’s heritage of exceptional off-road capability. It boasts a maximum ground clearance of 20 cm, approach and departure angles of 20 and 15 degrees respectively, and a breakover angle of 26 degrees. With a water-wading capacity of up to 47 cm, the Compass demonstrates its prowess beyond the tarmac.

In contrast to the subtle exterior revisions, the interior of the new Compass represents a significant “leap forward” in design. All variants feature a massive 16-inch touchscreen infotainment system paired with a 10-inch digital instrument cluster. Despite the large screens, Jeep has thoughtfully retained physical buttons and controls for more intuitive and engaging interaction.

The new Compass 2026 offers improved rear legroom with an additional 5.6 cm of space, along with a generous 45 liters of in-cabin storage and a 550-liter cargo area (with the 40:20:40 split rear seats folded), representing a 45-liter increase over its predecessor.

Jeep offers an array of powertrain options for the Compass 2026, including mild-hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and pure electric configurations.

The standard Compass 2026 delivers 145 horsepower from an undisclosed gasoline engine, enhanced by 48-volt mild-hybrid technology. The plug-in hybrid variant produces 195 horsepower, while the three electric versions offer outputs ranging from 213 horsepower in the front-wheel-drive model to a potent 375 horsepower in the all-wheel-drive variant. The newly developed rear electric motor, exclusive to Jeep, enables the vehicle to climb slopes of up to 20% even when the front wheels have no traction.

The AWD EV model boasts an impressive range of up to 650 km (WLTP cycle) on a single charge, while the FWD version with a 74 kWh battery offers a substantial 500 km of range.

Jeep has also engineered a flat underbody, optimized the wheel design for improved aerodynamics, and incorporated active grille shutters to enhance efficiency. The support for DC fast charging at up to 160 kW enables charging from 20% to 80% in just 30 minutes.
