On May 4, 2025, on the sidelines of his state visit to Vietnam, the President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, Anura Kumara Dissanayake, along with a high-level delegation, paid a visit to the headquarters of Vingroup in Hanoi.

He commended Vingroup’s multi-industry investment potential in Sri Lanka, especially in real estate and tourism.

Mr. Nguyen Viet Quang, Vice Chairman and CEO of Vingroup, along with leaders of member companies, welcomed the delegation. During the visit, Vingroup’s leadership introduced the overall development process, comprehensive green transformation strategy, and outstanding achievements of the Group in various fields.

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake expressed his deep impression of Vingroup’s scale, stature, and achievements, contributing to the development of Vietnam’s economy. He highly appreciated Vingroup’s green mobility ecosystem, with the electric vehicle brand VinFast at its core. To date, in addition to launching various models, VinFast has also established a strong presence in the international market, including India, Sri Lanka’s neighboring country. President Anura Kumara Dissanayake believes that Sri Lanka could also be a potential market for VinFast electric vehicles.

Apart from green mobility, President Anura Kumara Dissanayake suggested that Vingroup has significant potential for multi-industry investment in Sri Lanka. He emphasized investment opportunities for Vingroup in the Group’s areas of strength, such as tourism, finance, and real estate, particularly in Colombo, the largest city in Sri Lanka. The Sri Lankan government is currently offering tax exemptions to attract investments for the development of this city.
