On May 12, 2016, images of a luxury red Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG SUV sparked interest in Vietnam when the seller privately revealed that the Crazy Color Edition paint job cost over 700 million VND. The owner had flown to the factory in Austria to specifically choose the Tomato Red color for their vehicle.
Nine years later, the same seller disclosed a surprising secret – the actual price of the Tomato Red paint job was 1.07 billion VND, not 700 million VND as initially shared.
The seller explained that the reason for initially understating the price was that people would not believe that a customer would spend over 1 billion VND on a tomato red paint job.
It is unclear if the Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG Crazy Color Edition still remains with its first owner, but it is likely one of the most expensive Mercedes-Benz paint jobs in Vietnam to be publicly disclosed.
The luxurious Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG SUV in Tomato Red is part of the special Crazy Color Edition and is powered by a 5.5-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine, producing 544 horsepower and 760 Nm of torque.
This powerful engine is paired with a 7-speed AMG automatic transmission and 4Matic all-wheel drive, enabling the Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.3 seconds, reaching a top speed of 210 km/h.
