In August 2022, news surfaced that Dang Le Nguyen Vu had acquired an Aston Martin Valhalla supercar, with a price tag of almost VND 100 billion upon its arrival in Vietnam. This rare transaction by the businessman garnered attention from domestic media outlets.
During a chance encounter, Mr. Vu emphasized to us that only 88 units of the Aston Martin Valhalla would be produced, contrary to the company’s announcement of 999 units to the press. He also shared his eagerness to make the payment as soon as the car arrived in Vietnam.
However, on the afternoon of May 14, 2025, our exclusive source revealed that the Aston Martin Vietnam dealership had refunded Mr. Dang Le Nguyen Vu’s deposit.
The reason provided was the inability to deliver the Aston Martin Valhalla supercar due to the anticipated cessation of its production by the manufacturer.
Despite agreeing to the nearly VND 100 billion price tag, making a substantial deposit, and waiting for three years, Mr. Dang Le Nguyen Vu ultimately could not take possession of the coveted Valhalla due to Aston Martin’s inability to deliver the vehicle.
The Aston Martin Valhalla, ordered by Mr. Dang Le Nguyen Vu three years ago, has faced repeated production delays. It features a new PHEV powertrain with a mid-rear-mounted, twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine and two integrated electric motors, delivering a combined output of 937 horsepower and 1,000 Nm of torque.
The supercar is equipped with an exclusive 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission designed and built for Aston Martin’s hybrid powertrains. It also features an electronic limited-slip differential at the rear and an electric reverse function, allowing the car to be driven in reverse using only the two electric motors. With a breathtaking acceleration of 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds, the Valhalla can reach a top speed of 330 km/h.
