April 2025 Pickup Truck Sales Chart (units: vehicles)

Ford Ranger: 1,366 units

In April 2025, Ford sold 1,366 Ranger units in Vietnam, an 11% decrease compared to the previous month. However, it remained the best-selling model in the pickup truck segment. Additionally, the Ford Ranger secured a spot in the top 10 best-selling vehicles in Vietnam for April 2025.

Ford Ranger

The sales decline may have prompted Ford to launch promotional programs in May 2025 for the Ranger. During this month, the American pickup truck will be offered with a 100% discount on registration fees for the Wildtrack version and a 50% discount for the Sport version. As a result, customers will save VND 59 million when purchasing the Wildtrack and VND 26 million for the Sport. In addition, the Ranger Raptor pickup truck will come with a free one-year physical insurance or a cash bonus of VND 10 million from Ford Vietnam.

The Ford Ranger has held the position of “sales king” in the pickup truck segment in the Vietnamese market for many years. The success of this model stems from its attractive yet robust and masculine design. In addition, the Ranger offers multiple versions with a rich price range, ranging from VND 707 million to VND 1.306 billion, providing various options for customers. The Ranger also boasts superior convenience and safety equipment compared to its competitors in the same segment.

The Ford Ranger currently offers two diesel engine options with a 2.0L capacity. The first is a single-turbo engine that delivers a maximum output of 167 horsepower and a peak torque of 405 Nm. This engine is paired with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. The second is a twin-turbo engine that produces 207 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque, mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission.

Toyota Hilux: 351 units

April 2025 witnessed the rise of the Toyota Hilux in the pickup truck segment. It climbed to second place in the segment, surpassing the Mitsubishi Triton, thanks to a 50.6% growth in sales to 351 units. The Hilux was the only pickup truck model to improve its sales performance in April.

Toyota Hilux

The Toyota Hilux is currently priced from VND 668 million to VND 999 million in Vietnam, which is quite similar to its competitors. Additionally, the Hilux has been enhanced with attractive features since 2024, including a 9-inch touchscreen display, support for Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity, dual-zone automatic climate control, a 360-degree camera, six sensors, a blind-spot monitoring system, and a rear cross-traffic alert system.

Under the hood of the Toyota Hilux is a 2.4L four-cylinder diesel engine that produces 144 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. Alternatively, a 2.8L turbocharged engine delivers 201 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque. These engines are paired with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission and either a single or dual-wheel drive system, depending on the variant.

Mitsubishi Triton: 216 units

In contrast to the Toyota Hilux, the Mitsubishi Triton experienced a significant sales decline in April 2025. Its sales figures reached only 216 units, a decrease of 59.8%, making it the model with the highest sales decline in the pickup truck segment in Vietnam.

Mitsubishi Triton

In May 2025, the Mitsubishi Triton is also offered with official promotions. Specifically, the brand provides support equivalent to 50% of the registration fee, valued at VND 33-46 million, depending on the variant. In addition, customers will receive gifts worth VND 10 million.

The Mitsubishi Triton is priced from VND 655 million to VND 924 million in Vietnam. For this price, customers will get a pickup truck with a well-designed and well-equipped interior.

Some of the notable features of the Triton in Vietnam include an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, a 7-inch multi-information display in the instrument cluster, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto connectivity, dual-zone automatic climate control, wireless charging, a 360-degree camera, forward collision mitigation, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, automatic headlights, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.

The Mitsubishi Triton is powered by a 2.4L four-cylinder MIVEC turbocharged diesel engine. In the 2WD AT GLX and 2WD AT Premium variants, this engine generates a maximum output of 184 horsepower and 430 Nm of torque. In the 4WD AT Athlete variant, the power figures increase to 204 horsepower and 470 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission and either a single or dual-wheel drive system.

Isuzu D-Max: 32 units

Once again, the Isuzu D-Max occupied the last position in the pickup truck segment. With only 32 units sold, it experienced a slight decrease of 5.88%. Not only did it rank last in the segment, but the Isuzu D-Max was also among the 10 worst-selling vehicles in the Vietnamese market in April 2025.

Isuzu D-Max

The Isuzu D-Max is offered in four variants in Vietnam, with prices starting from VND 650 million to VND 880 million. However, it has relatively low sales due to its less striking design and features. Additionally, ineffective sales and marketing strategies, along with the association of the Isuzu brand with commercial vehicles in Vietnam, have impacted its performance.

The Isuzu D-Max received an upgraded version in October 2024, featuring LED lighting, 18-inch wheels, a 7-inch multi-information display, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a USB Type-C port, black and brown leather upholstery, an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with CoolMax heat-reducing technology, UVA/UVB protective windshield glass, an 8-speaker Dynamic Surround Sound system, and a dual-zone automatic climate control system with PM2.5 air filtration.

The “heart” of the Isuzu D-Max is a 1.9L four-cylinder diesel engine that delivers 150 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque. It is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission and either a single or dual-wheel drive system.
