Toyota has recently introduced the all-electric C-HR model in North America, following its launch in Europe approximately two months ago.
Unlike the hybrid version previously introduced in Europe, Toyota has decided to offer a fully electric variant in the US, showcasing its commitment to expanding its emissions-free vehicle lineup.
The Toyota C-HR for the US market retains its modern coupe styling, evident in its gently sloping roofline, which lends a sporty and dynamic appearance. Built on the e-TNGA 2.0 platform, similar to other models in the Toyota bZ electric vehicle series, the C-HR has overall dimensions of 4,519 x 1,869 x 1,621 mm and a wheelbase of 2,751 mm.
Toyota has refreshed the color palette to cater to American tastes. The standard SE trim offers a range of colors, including Overcast Green, Tandoori Orange, Cement Gray, Midnight Black Metallic, and Wind Chill Pearl White. Meanwhile, the premium XSE trim features a contrasting black roof combined with eye-catching body colors such as orange, gray, or white. The C-HR is fitted with 18-inch or 20-inch alloy wheels, depending on the trim level.
The Toyota C-HR’s cabin is designed with a focus on technology and comfort. At the center of the dashboard sits a 14-inch touchscreen display, integrating the latest Toyota Audio Multimedia system. The standard audio system includes six speakers, but can be upgraded to a premium JBL setup with nine speakers and an output of 800 watts.
The seats are upholstered in a variety of materials, including cloth, SofTex, or synthetic suede, depending on the trim level. Additional amenities include wireless charging for two devices, a panoramic sunroof, and a spacious cargo area offering 719 liters of volume with the rear seats folded down.
In the US, the C-HR is offered exclusively with a four-wheel-drive configuration and dual electric motors, delivering a combined output of 343 horsepower. This setup enables the C-HR to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in approximately five seconds.
Powering the vehicle is a 74.7 kWh battery pack, providing an estimated range of up to 467 kilometers on a single charge, according to the US standard cycle. The C-HR supports NACS charging standards and fast DC charging with a maximum power of 150 kW, allowing a charge from 10% to 80% in just 30 minutes.
Toyota has confirmed that the all-electric C-HR will arrive at North American dealerships in 2026. While the official retail price has not been announced, sources speculate that the vehicle will start at around $35,000 (approximately 907.2 million VND). It remains to be seen whether Toyota will introduce a front-wheel-drive variant, as offered in Europe.
