As Vietnam’s motorcycle market entered June, prices of popular scooter models showed signs of cooling down, with some even selling below the manufacturer’s suggested retail prices.
Honda Vision Prices Drop
Speaking to Tri Thức Trá»±c Tuyến, a Honda dealer in Ho Chi Minh City shared that the Honda Vision’s price now ranges from 31.79 million to 37.69 million VND, depending on the trim level.
The Standard version of this popular scooter is currently priced at 31.79 million VND, only 100,000 VND above the recently adjusted MSRP set by Honda in early April.
Back then, dealerships were offering the Standard Honda Vision for 33.39 million VND. Thus, after two months, the price of the most affordable variant of Vietnam’s favorite scooter has dropped by 1.6 million VND. However, if you’re interested in the Standard version now, you can only choose the black color option.
The Premium and Special editions of the Honda Vision are now priced at 33.69 million VND and 36.09 million VND, respectively, which translates to approximately 300,000 VND and 1.3 million VND below the manufacturer’s suggested retail prices. As for the Sport variant, dealerships are selling it for 37.69 million VND, a mere 600,000 VND above Honda Vietnam’s MSRP.

The Honda SH Mode also witnessed a significant price drop compared to the beginning of April. Currently, the Standard to Sport versions of this scooter are priced between 58.79 million and 71.49 million VND. The Standard model has the lowest deviation from MSRP at 600,000 VND, while the Sport variant is 6.5 million VND more expensive than the manufacturer’s suggested retail price.
However, compared to the price survey conducted by Tri Thức Trá»±c Tuyến in April, the SH Mode’s actual selling price is now lower by 5.7 million to 14.8 million VND.
Notably, the 160cc Honda Air Blade has returned to dealerships, although its availability is still somewhat limited.
The Standard version of this scooter is priced at 57.19 million VND, a mere 500,000 VND above the MSRP. Meanwhile, the Special edition of the Air Blade 160 is now 58.69 million VND at dealerships, a premium of 800,000 VND over Honda Vietnam’s suggested retail price.
Conversely, the 125cc Honda Air Blade is now selling below MSRP at dealerships by 1.6 million to 2.2 million VND. Specifically, the Standard and Special versions of this scooter are priced at 41.19 million VND and 41.79 million VND, respectively.
Following the price adjustment in early April, the Honda Air Blade 125 now has MSRPs of 42.79 million VND for the Standard version and 43.99 million VND for the Special version.
Yamaha Scooters Selling Below MSRP
According to our findings, the Yamaha Janus is selling for 800,000 VND less than Yamaha Vietnam’s MSRP. Currently, the Standard version of this scooter is priced at 28.3 million VND. The Special and Limited editions of the Yamaha Janus are now offered at 32 million and 32.5 million VND, respectively.
The Yamaha Freego is also among the scooters selling below MSRP. While the suggested retail prices range from 30.7 million to 34.7 million VND, dealerships are offering the Standard version for only 30 million VND and the Special version for 34 million VND.
Similarly, the Yamaha Latte is selling for 700,000 to 800,000 VND below MSRP. Some dealerships are offering this scooter for 38 million to 38.6 million VND, depending on whether you choose the Standard or Limited edition.
Regarding the Yamaha Grande, sales consultants at dealerships mentioned that its price slightly deviates from the MSRP. The deviation ranges from 300,000 to 500,000 VND, depending on the trim level and color option chosen by the customer.
Stable Growth in Motorcycle Supply
The recent cooling down of scooter prices can likely be attributed to the stable growth in motorcycle supply.
According to a report from the General Statistics Office, domestic motorcycle production in May is estimated at 292,100 units, representing a 3.8% growth compared to the previous month.

Cumulative domestic motorcycle production in Vietnam for the first five months of the year is estimated at 1.34 million units, almost matching the production volume achieved in the same period last year.
Despite similar production volumes in the first five months, motorcycle production in Vietnam unexpectedly slowed down in June and July 2022, reaching only 208,900 and 208,200 units, respectively. This slowdown caused a shortage of supply and was partly responsible for the significant price discrepancies observed for many scooter models during that time.
Around early July 2022, the on-the-road price of the Honda Vision in some areas peaked, approaching the 60 million VND mark. However, at that time, many customers shared that even with the high prices, they had to wait and couldn’t take immediate delivery of their scooters.
