According to Car News China, the first Xiaomi SU7 Ultras have been
spotted at the company’s Beijing factory in China. It appears that the
Chinese tech giant’s automotive division has commenced mass production of
this high-performance model to meet its scheduled launch and delivery
timeline in March.

The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is a high-performance variant of the Xiaomi SU7
electric sedan. The company started taking pre-orders for the SU7 Ultra
back in October 2024, with a price tag of 814,900 CNY (approximately
$113,200 USD). Despite the premium price, Xiaomi received 3,680 orders
within just 10 minutes of opening reservations.

Images show dozens of Xiaomi SU7 Ultras parked outside the company’s
Beijing factory. A sporty front bumper distinguishes the Ultra from the
standard SU7, along with a front splitter, large brake discs, exclusive
yellow paint, white stripes, and “Ultra” lettering. The high-performance
electric car also features a large rear wing and a wider body compared to
the standard model.

While Xiaomi has not released any official statements regarding the mass
production of the SU7 Ultra, the presence of multiple vehicles outside the
factory indicates that the high-performance electric car has entered the
production phase.

Previously, Xiaomi initiated the SU7’s production in February 2024 and
began deliveries in late March 2024. Despite their efforts to ramp up
production, Xiaomi struggled to keep up with the overwhelming demand for
their first electric sedan. According to Car News China, the waiting
time for a Xiaomi SU7 is approximately 5-7 months from the time of order.

The Xiaomi SU7, the company’s inaugural electric sedan, is already a
formidable vehicle. The Max version delivers a maximum output of 664
horsepower and 838 Nm of torque, enabling it to accelerate from 0 to 100
km/h in 2.78 seconds.

However, Xiaomi has cautioned that the SU7 is designed for urban driving
and is not a race car. In fact, there have been incidents where the SU7’s
brakes caught fire during track use.

The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra, on the other hand, is a true track-focused machine.
Equipped with three electric motors, it generates a combined output of
1,526 horsepower and 1,770 Nm of torque. This setup propels the car from
0 to 100 km/h in a blistering 1.98 seconds.

The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra boasts the largest carbon-ceramic brake discs ever
fitted to a production sports car, with six-piston Akebono calipers at the
front and four-piston calipers at the rear. According to Xiaomi, the brake
discs can withstand temperatures of over 1,300 degrees Celsius.

The SU7 Ultra utilizes a three-component NMC battery with a capacity of
93.7 kWh, manufactured by CATL. With a 5.2C charging coefficient, the
Ultra supports charging rates of up to 490 kW, enabling a 10-80% charge in
just 11 minutes. The car offers a range of 620 km, as per the CLTC cycle.

The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra has dimensions of 5,115 x 1,970 x 1,465 mm (length x
width x height) and a wheelbase of 3,000 mm. With a curb weight of 2,360
kg, it is 150 kg lighter than the BMW M5 G90 sedan. Thanks to its large
rear wing, the Ultra generates up to 285 kg of downforce at speed.

Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has revealed that customers will be required to undergo
a multi-step test to familiarize themselves with the SU7 Ultra’s performance
and handling characteristics before taking delivery. Details of this test
have not yet been disclosed.
